GABF, 2012. I would call this a raspberry lambic. It was one of the highlights of the festival and drew long lines. There is an intense raspberry aroma to this beer. Sour flavor, but also lots of yeast and more fruit, finishing with raspberry and sour yeast. Bright red color.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2013 Personal contribution @ ‘The Adam Jackson Tasting’. Obtained in a trade with Adam. 2012 Vintage. 375 ml bottle sampled. The label is rather fascinatingly bad – I sort of didn’t believe something like this would exist when I saw a picture first. I am intrigued. Bright pink, radiant, light red, little pink head. Nose is tart raspberry, bit simple, mellow sourness, tart, light dust, some lemon, bit easy. Taste is tart raspberry, pits, mellow tartness, very clean, lemon touch, bit easy but lovely, touch wild yeast, light fermenting raspberries, some dust, touch too light,… Quite easy and clean. Not as awesome as Consecration & Supplication but still not too bad – probably cherry > raspberries in sour / not per se as the pure fruit itself.

Bottle generously shared by Matt at Max’s tasting. Had been hoping for a while to get to try this one, so thanks Matt! Pours a beautiful raspberry amber color with a thin white head. Aroma of tart raspberry seeds, raspberry puree, oak and some light barnyard funkiness. Terrific. Taste is tart and slightly acidic with notes of raspberry jam, seeds, lemons, oak and wood and a great overall funkiness. Soft on the palate and a nice lingering tartness in the finish. Just lovely.

375ml shared by Madbeerbaron. Thanks! Pronounced raspberry aroma, earthy, fresh. pronounced raspberry flavor and on top of all that some nice sour tones. One of the better American Sours I’ve ever had. The raspberry is so pure and rich, and combined with the deep lemony sour tastes, is really sublime and delicious. Over the top awesome beer. World Class.

375 ml bottle from Ledgers. Nose is heavy with raspberries, tartness, with some oak and winey hints. Light hazy raspberry red with a small pink head. Flavor is very tart, light raspberries, red wine and oak notes, and a little background funk. Excellent sour; can’t wait to try the 2010 later today.

Sampled on 12/3/2011. This sour/wild ale pours a raspberry color from a 375ml bottle. Small to no head. The aroma is raspberry, malt and sweet. A medium bodied sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity and very tart. Intense Raspberry flavors. Tart and not very sweet. Nice carbonation. The fruit flavors are balanced by a whole lot of tartness, Nice raspberry flavors. Amazing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.
