Blonde Ale aged in Chardonnay barrels with brett, lacto, and pedio (base beer is Temptation). This sour barrel-aged blonde ale has 30 pounds per barrel of fresh raspberries to make a beautiful reddish/pink beer! Nicely balanced with sweet raspberry and tartness. This beer is made only once a year in conjunction with our month-long fundraiser for the Sutter Breast Care Center of Santa Rosa during Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 100% of the proceeds of this beer will be used to help men and women in our community in their fight against breast cancer!

2013 & 2014 Info: The base was 80% Temptation and 20% Sonambic blend. It was about 7 or 8 weeks on the fruit at around one pound/gallon.

Definite raspberry aroma raspberry in the initial favor a slight tart. Ya got some oak going on, vinegar backfeel and nice mouthcoating dryness. Somewhat low carbonation overall an outstanding beer.

Taste at pub. This is the beer for the buddy you bring along that doesn’t like anything other then light beer. Its a start I guess. Just your basic blonde ale.

Bottle at Kebabfesten. Almost clear deep pink liquid with medium pinkish head. Aroma of raspberries, lemon, mineral, light wood, red apple skin and light funk. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of raspberries, lemon and red apples. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Awesome. Great complexity, the world class RR sour base shines through in a nice way with the mineral really taking some place.

Sampled at THT August. Bottle vintage 2015, thanks kermis. Hazy orange, white head. Sweet raspberry, little horseblanket, wood, grapestones, salty minerallikeness. Mild sour and minerallike salty. Sweet and dense fruity base underneath. under medium body, soft fizzy carbonation, very nice.

Bottle at THT thanks to kermis. Bit hazy pink orange with small off white head. Nice nose with funk and raspberries. When sipping it’s more mineral, hay, balsamico, old red wine, lots of tannins and raspberry. Under medium sour and lots of bitter tannins. Medium bodied.

2015 bottle from Mr. Joenugs, shared with Nelson on 6/25/16. Thanks, Joe!
Bright, light magenta-tinted raspberry body is well-carbonated and topped by a pink-tinged, light beige head that shows moderate to moderately strong retention.
Raspberry is quite straightforward, with lots of flesh and seed. Vanilla creeps in, deepening complexity as a burst of phenols and leathery brett notes add livliness. No sign of the chardonnay in the nose, nor is there any strong oak, with only a touch of light wood. No alcohol or flaw.
Similarly flavored, with tight carbonation and an ample, dry body. Lots of phenols and moderate vanilla with soft wood tannins and plentiful brett. The fruit is nicely attenuated as well, and leaves lots of pepper and poignant juiciness. A touch understated and quite elegant if not exactly mind-blowing.

From notes. Enjoyed this at Doug’s house for a small gathering on May 01 with Travis, ebone1988, and I think Charlie made an appearance as well. Doug cracked this 375 mL bottle. Damn. The pour is a bright reddish pink color with a light pink head that falls slowly. There is a good amount of sediment to this one, that’s for sure. The aroma smells like sour raspberries. There is a little funkiness and a bit of dusty barnyard to it, but the tart, sharp raspberries are the big show. The flavor is even better. There is a nice sharp fruit up front, and then it moves through a nice funky barnyard and into a sweet fruit on the back end. This one actually makes my mouth water a little, and I love it. The mouth feel is excellent. It’s light and crisp with a sharp carbonation and a lovely tart raspberry finish. I’m just blown away by how simple, yet excellent this is.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, Travis, and Doug. Aroma is raspberry, funk, tart, really nice. Appearance is red pink, light pink head, floaties throughout. Taste is raspberry, tart, funky, lots of barnyard, dry. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, raspberry funk aftertaste. Overall, this one is outstanding.
