COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopped-Up Blonde Ale, 5.4%ABV
Not really a Blonde Ale, not a Pale Ale, not an IPA. Happy Hops is a light colored refreshing ale with a pronounced hop character from the experimental 369 variety.

You may also see a special version of this beer once a year called Happy Hops Harvest, which is brewed with fresh "wet" hops grown locally. Available year round

On tap at Russian river. Color is golden with fluffy white head. Taste is crisp with a simco hop flavor. Taste like a light pliny. Good stuff

Orange pour with a white head. Intense floral hops and really nice grapefruit, orange, and pine hops. Some sweet bread, tangerine, and a bit of toasted malt. There’s a mild to moderate sweetness of bread an toast. Good grapefruit, orange, and tangerine citrus notes. Mild pine bitterness, floral hops, and a semi-dry finish.

Draft at OBriens. Bright clear orange/gold, with a fluffy white head. Citrusy, grapefruit, caramel malt, bread, and lightly bitter. Nice clean beer, juicy fresh hops, and quite tasty. More like an IPA, than a golden ale. Good.

Growler at my parents with family, courtesy of Felipe. Thanks man!! Pour is golden orange with a frothy white head and good lacing. Big hoppy aroma, floral, grassy, piney, somewhat sweet, biscuit, straw, and orange peel. Taste is biscuit, pine, grapefruit peel, grass, and a touch of yeast with a big bitter finish. Light body with crisp carbonation. Smooth, crisp, hoppy, and refreshing; great blond.

On tap at Russian River. Thick piney, resinous aroma, with a malty undertone. Clear golden on colour, with a thin white head. Crisp and medium bodied. Overall, not quite as bold as Pliny, but possibly more well balanced.

Sampler, clear golden, fine foam, lots of lacing. Passionfruit aroma. Citrus hop forward flavor, some resin on the back.

Tap. Pours clear amber with a small off white head that dissipates slowly with good lacing. Aroma is strong passion fruit, grapefruit, malt and notes of pine. Flavor is much the same with passion fruit the dominant note. Medium sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, oily and rich textured. I really liked this one.

On tap at Russian River. Clear golden pour with a tight white froth. Lots of nectary stone fruit with earthy evergreen and citrus in the finish. Great combo, and interesting to try this varietial.

Tap@the brewpub, Santa Rosa, CA, 13/08/12. Straw with white tendrils of lace. Leafy, ganja-esque aroma mingling with lemon zest. Outstanding, squeezed darjeeling, grapefruit and honeycomb character; tongue-drying, bittersweet and beautiful. Right up my alley.

Backlog purge. On tap at the brewery. Pale orange, thin off white head. Pils malt, light caramel, spicy sprucey hops, moderate bitterness. A little underwhelming.
