3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub. I didn’t hear very many good things about this one, so I only ordered a sample. I wish I could have had more because it was darn good! Light golden yellow with a white head. The aroma was floral and citrusy with hints of tropical fruit. The flavor was the same. Very fresh and hop forward. It may suffer a bit next to Pliny and Blind Pig or even Row 2, but it was a very nice, light hop forward beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Alla spian al brewpub. L’ipa della casa che mi è piaciuta di meno, piuttosto scarica e meno intensa rispetto alle sue sorelle maggiori...ha un grado alcoolico però decisamente + abbordabile.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap, 2013, experimental hop #462. Pours ultra clear amber orange, small beige head, great lacing. Aroma is light, piney, caramel. Flavor is about the same, light sweet and light bitter, but the finish has medium bitterness and a bit of a metallic note. Light body. Meh.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery, the Hop 2 It is designed to show off a single hop variety in each version - and this one doesn’t disappoint. Pours light orange with nice head and lasting lace. Good malt/hop middle palate balance, finishing with a citrusy wash.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewery. Appley piney hops, mild, fruity and not very robust. Not sure which hop variety this edition was, but it would be better utilized in a blend.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
100% Cascade Cross
Aroma is mostly hops with a nice grapefruit citrus and light pine note. There is a malt backbone present though with some sweet bread and cracker notes.
Pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head that perseveres as a thin film on top and on the edges. Good lacing with small legs.
Flavor is rather hop forward but it does have balanced cracker and bread character to balance the hops. The hop character is grapefruit and pineapple with some pine resin to balance out the fruit. The bitterness is fairly moderate which really allows the malt to shoe through in the finish in a bready way.
Mouthfeel is medium to medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall a good beer and definitely not retired, but its not their best. The balance is nice, but the finish to this hop is a bit lacking and has a slightly odd grassy note.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
10 ounce sample on tap at Russian River. 100% Cascade Cross Pale Hops. Aroma is pretty faint. Lightly piney hop nose. Light sugary sweetness, too. Not too much happening here. Moderately hazy orange body with a white head and OK lacing. Starts with light piney and a slight cheesy flavoring. Decent malt sweetness in the middle with some milky malt notes. Finishes with very mild bitterness. Well-crafted, but pretty bland.
