COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each time we make this ale we pick a different single variety of hops and use them exclusively in the brew. The malt bill stays fairly consistent from batch to batch so as to allow the distinctive hop flavors to come through. Here are just a few of the hops used in the past: Simcoe, Vanguard, Sterling, YCR-004, Amarillo, Satus, Santium, Tomahawk, and Columbus. Available on draft seasonally.O.G.: 1.060;50 BU’S

On tap at the brewery. Appley piney hops, mild, fruity and not very robust. Not sure which hop variety this edition was, but it would be better utilized in a blend.

Alla spian al brewpub. L’ipa della casa che mi è piaciuta di meno, piuttosto scarica e meno intensa rispetto alle sue sorelle maggiori...ha un grado alcoolico però decisamente + abbordabile.

On tap at the brewery. This blonde ale poured with a thin off-white head and a floral aroma. There is a smooth caramel malt flavor and sigificant bitterness produced by the tasty Sterling hops. It’s both light and bitter.

On tap @ RR. Pours a clear gold color. Nose was some earthy and piney hops. Flavor was a light sweetness, some mild hop presence. A nice session beer.

Draft - Hop 291 - Floral and sweet tropical fruit. Clear pale gold with a thin white head. Lots of tropical fruit with a hint of bitterness. A little too tropical and sweet, but still nice.

Tap @ Catos in Oakland. A godlen color with a white head. I initially tried this after taking in a sip of Pliny the Younger and thought this was water. After a little time and cleaning the palate, the hops came through. Not a strong PA but easy to drink and enjoyable. A little thin with a dry grainy malt finish on the palate.
