COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each time we make this ale we pick a different single variety of hops and use them exclusively in the brew. The malt bill stays fairly consistent from batch to batch so as to allow the distinctive hop flavors to come through. Here are just a few of the hops used in the past: Simcoe, Vanguard, Sterling, YCR-004, Amarillo, Azzaca, Idaho 7 (NJ7), Satus, Santium, Tomahawk, and Columbus. Available on draft seasonally.O.G.: 1.060;50 BU’S

Tap at the brewpub: (Sterling was used at the time of my visit) Light yellow golden pour with a dense white film. Soft citrus hop aroma. Twiggy, clean with some hay notes. Creamy body. Balanced flavor with some mild nutty malt undertones that mesh with a clean hoppy flavor. Mildly resiny with a tannic AA finish. A nice session (that tasted like it had no hops in it after PTE)

On tap at the brewery. Appley piney hops, mild, fruity and not very robust. Not sure which hop variety this edition was, but it would be better utilized in a blend.

Alla spian al brewpub. L’ipa della casa che mi è piaciuta di meno, piuttosto scarica e meno intensa rispetto alle sue sorelle maggiori...ha un grado alcoolico però decisamente + abbordabile.

"(Sterling hops version) a clean, simple, slightly citrus aroma and flavor. it was quite good, and I love the idea of highlighting each hop veriety, but their other hop bombs are better."

draft at Russian River, solid IPA but has some tough competition on its own draft board. medium bodied, citrusy, some mango. Overall, a nice IPA that took a back seat to Blind Pig & Pliny

On tap at Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa, CA-USA. HBC683 version. Pours clear gold color, white foam leaving draft. Nose: yeast a bit, light garlic, grass. Mouth: mild soul, hops infusion in a neutral body. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

marcus (9147) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 18, 2009
On tap at the brewery. This blonde ale poured with a thin off-white head and a floral aroma. There is a smooth caramel malt flavor and sigificant bitterness produced by the tasty Sterling hops. It’s both light and bitter.

Draft - Hop 291 - Floral and sweet tropical fruit. Clear pale gold with a thin white head. Lots of tropical fruit with a hint of bitterness. A little too tropical and sweet, but still nice.
