COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
HopTime Harvest Ale is brewed with 100% “wet” Russian River hops. Normally, we add from 1/2 pound to 2 pounds of hops per barrel (31 gallons) of beer. With this brew we added 9 pounds of freshly picked “wet” hops to each barrel of beer. The exceptional hop aroma and flavor is attributed to the fact that the “wet” hops were added to the kettle just 4 hours after they were harvested. Distinctive aromatic’s and flavor’s from “wet” hops differ from those found in dried hops because the volatile oils in “wet” hops are exactly as they were when hanging on the vine. Available on draft seasonally.

HonkeyBra (3516) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - NOV 13, 2013
Sampled at GABF2013. Nice, golden amber pour with a small white head. Aroma is mostly citrus and pine up front, with some resinous notes as well. Light, bready golden malt towards the backend of the nose. Flavor is focused on nice fresh hops, lots of orange, tangerine and piney hop bitterness, with touches of milder citrus sweetness. Obviously hop forward, it has some malt character to round things out. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Finishes bitter.

10 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. The aroma is fair with some pine and grapefruit hop notes. Light orange citrus sweetness is also present. Transparent orange-copper body with a small, white head and good lacing. Starts with light sweetness. Some orange citrus hops are also there. Becomes husky and chewy in the middle with some toastiness. Finishes rather bitter, hoppy, and herbal. Nice stuff.

On tap at the brewery, this IPA truly distinguishes itself using wet hopping rather than dry hopping. Hoppy, tangy nose, beautifully balanced on the middle palate, deep flavor that carries through to the finish. Bravo!
