COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
HopTime Harvest Ale is brewed with 100% “wet” Russian River hops. Normally, we add from 1/2 pound to 2 pounds of hops per barrel (31 gallons) of beer. With this brew we added 9 pounds of freshly picked “wet” hops to each barrel of beer. The exceptional hop aroma and flavor is attributed to the fact that the “wet” hops were added to the kettle just 4 hours after they were harvested. Distinctive aromatic’s and flavor’s from “wet” hops differ from those found in dried hops because the volatile oils in “wet” hops are exactly as they were when hanging on the vine. Available on draft seasonally.

Great American Beer Festival, 2012. One of the best IPAs I tried during the two-day festival. Bright and fresh citrus aroma with lots of floral hops in the flavor. The malt takes a back seat, this is a very well hopped beer. Dry, bitter finish. If the Russian River lines were not so long, I would have had more.

Sampled at GABF 2012 with Andrew and Moreau. What a shame this was sitting next to the Row 2 Hill 56, because otherwise I would’ve tried more than one sample. Despite being completely overshadowed by its neighbor, this was still one of my favorite beers of GABF. Pours a lightly golden orange body with nice white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is muted grass, floral flavors, fresh pine and light citrus. Lots of your typical IPA flavors floating around - but balanced very well with a light caramel malt tone. The pine and funky citrus come out much more in the flavor with notes of flowers, citrus and muted biscuity malts in the background. Very clean, crisp, sessionable and well balanced.

GABF. Cloudy yellowish pour, white head. citrus aroma, some grassy notes, light yeast, caramel. Flavor is mild for some RR IPA’s out there, but very pleasant. Citrus, grass, hay, yeast, light malt. Very tasty.

Sampled at GABF ’12. Pour is golden in appearance with a big white head and good lacing. Very citrusy aroma, light grass, straw, a touch of caramel, and biscuit in the aroma. Taste is much more dank than the aroma, pine, light grass, and straw with a citrusy/floral crisp bitter finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Clean and crisp IPA, I imagine this would be a perfect beer on a hot summer day. Tasty stuff.

GABF 2012. Pours a bit hazy golden appearance with an off white head. A bit soapy, herbal, lightly piney hoppy, mild caramel aroma. Pretty tame, straw, earthy, a bit caramel, lightly piney flavor. Not bad but I’ve enjoyed other RR IPAs more.

On draft at Russian River. It pours a burnt orange color with an off white head. The aroma has some sweet tangerine citrus. The flavor is grassy (as wet hop ales tend to be) and very dry. Some citrus peel bitterness in the finish. This was a bit of a disappointment considering how potently snappy and hoppy most RR beers are. This was a bit dull for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a hazed golden-orange hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are hoppy, citrusy, dank, tangerine, smooth hop oils (low cohumulone), light malt. Flavors are fresh and hoppy, grainy, citrusy, tangerine, low esters. Some melon like notes to the hop flavors. Medium carbonation with a dry finish. Tasty!

Tap. Pours clear golden amber with a medium creamy white head and great lacing. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, light caramel. Taste is much the same, lightly sweet and medium bitter. FInish is sprucy bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Quite a tasty brew; I need to return for a few more pints of this one!
