Draught at Russian River. Big surprise after Blind Pig and Pliney. Much drier and less intense. Flavorful, but without the big hop taste I expect from the others RR does. Aroma is held back a bit.

Pours a very golden yellow with a creamy head. Thick lacing. Nose is of chinook, columbuc, centennial hops. Taste is a nice balance of pine and citrus, no over-dominating profile. Very clean caramel body, fairly dry, with a hint of sweetness.

Pour from a freshly opened frowler. Balanced aroma. Citrus, earthiness and bread crusty malt. Peaches and orange zest. Slight cut grass note. Just a teensy bit of pine sap as well. The citrus really starts to explode as the beer warms up. Pours a crystal clear deep burnt gold with a frothy and resilient off-white head. Flavor is quite dry with plenty of green hopiness. Almost tastes fresh hopped. Resiny and citrusy. Very green and robust hoppiness. A bone dry crackery malt presence backs up the hops quite well. Quite firm on the palate. Dry with a lasting tannic hoppy bitterness. Well done! Thanks Randall!

Sparky (2128) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - NOV 10, 2009
On tap at Stone Bistro. Pours clear dark gold with a one finger white head. The nose is fresh citrus, floral hops and caramel. The taste is oily hops, citrus, toffee and pine. Medium bodied. Really good IPA. Rivals Blind Pig in my opinion.

On tap at O’Brien’s this was clear orange and looked like Blind Pig to me. The smell was a little bit of oily hops. The flavor was quite bitter without much citrus flavor or pine or grass or the things I like to taste in a West Coast IPA. I think Blind Pig is better than this but this was still quite easy to drink much like an Russian River beer. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 09-21-2009 23:23:06

US trip Aug/Sept 2009 - on tap at RR. Thought this one better than the blind pig - bigger hops, cleaner tasting malt. Very nice
