illidurit (387), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 6, 2008 On tap at Russian River for their 4th anniversary.
Pours an apple juice color with a white head and some wispy lacing. Aroma is hoppy but it’s not really a citrus hoppiness. More piney and sprucey. Flavor is the same, with a little grapefruit rind and a tannic finish. Dry and quenching. Nice little APA here. joet (1622), Fulton, California, USA Jun 1, 2008 Leave it to Russian River to have their APA be a lot more hop character and stronger than almost all English IPAs. Citric hops, a little resinous, more hop aroma than flavor. Not too sweet. Delicious. KrausenJockey (331), Stockton, California, USA Jul 28, 2007 At pub. A real nice mini IPA/ APA. I really like these small IPA/big flavor APA’s. Well presented hop bitterness and malt balance. Slight hints of crystal malts and toffee in the finish. Great name as well. aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Oct 10, 2006 Malty and hoppy beer that has identity issues, is it a big Pale ale or is at a small IPA, I like tothink of it as the former. Pleasant hop forward nose with a touch of caramel and iced tea. A nice balanced session pale. papajohn (990), San Diego, California, USA Jun 24, 2005 On tap@O’Brien"s: Brite light amber color with a small white head. Aroma is lightly sweet with a hint of fruit. Flavor is lightly sweet with some lightly hoppy grapefruit bitterness. Light smooth palate...almost an IPA.
