COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wouldn't it suck to have a job where nobody likes you? And, regardless of your name, people always call you Rita, as in "Lovely Rita?" Sometimes people just shorten it to the simpler "meter maid." The funny thing about that is the Webster dictionary defines a "meter maid" as "a female member of a police department who is assigned to write tickets for parking violations." You have to wonder how the male "meter maids" feel about that! Parking Violation is an American style pale ale using lots of American hops, lots of quarters, and several trips back and forth to the parking lot. So, remember to drink responsibly and feed your meter.

On tap@O’Brien"s: Brite light amber color with a small white head. Aroma is lightly sweet with a hint of fruit. Flavor is lightly sweet with some lightly hoppy grapefruit bitterness. Light smooth palate...almost an IPA.

Very smooth APA, pretty typical for the West Coast. Mouthfeel is as good as I’ve had for a beer this small.

On tap @ brewery. Pale Ale? IPA?...BOTH!? Here’s the scoop... Clear, sparkling (like champagne) amber body with an offwhite head the has a silky appearance of bubbles flowing that you would expect with a fine stout, like Shakespeare by Rogue, and left behind thick sloppy lace. Appearance is phenominal. A giant pitcher of this could be set on a light and tilting platform and it would be a marvelous fountain. Tantalizing appearance. Aroma is malty peach, honey, honey-comb musk and a touch of citrus--like a typical PA. Body is light to medium, watery finish, foamy carbonation and dry. Flavor...well, it tastes just like an IPA. Pine and grapefruit dominate, with sugar and touches of peach and wood in the flavor. The puny 35 IBU’s are more noticable than the 100 in Pliny the Eldar. This beer is suffering from an identity crisis.

Draft. Rich mahogony-amber color with a nice off-white head. Citrus hop aroma. Citrus flavor with some pine and earthiness and a touch of malt backing.

yeah, it’s a good fucking PALE ALE. what the fuck else do you want me to say? It’s no ALPHA KING, or 90 min, but then again...what is? I love this brew co., especially the PLINY, and they make some great versions of belgian beers as well. NICE!

This brew pours with an orange-gold body topped by a thin head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet bitter and fruity. Not overly aromatic. Damn! can we say bitter. The flavor is bitter, piney and hoppy with peppery notes and a slight grassiness. Medium bodied, smooth and slightly warming.

This is one of the worst pale ales I’ve had in a while and is very dissapointing considering it is brewed by one of my favorite brewers. Pours a golden cloudy hue with a small white head. Aromas of light hops, and flavors that taste ,almost, skunky, in a bad lager kinda way.

Tap. Amber, clear, small head. I had thought that this was supposed to be an IPA, and wrote down "This would make a nice intro to IPAs", but it turns out to be a pale. Light biting hops, pretty well balanced. Decent.

(Draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) Perhaps I’m spoiled by all the double IPAs out now, but just hoppy pale ales don’t inspire me that much any more; This is a good brew, but pretty average to me for the craft brew industry; This is a mild flavored pale ale initially, hoppy, moderately bitter, mildly sweet, with a fairly light maltiness that allows the hops to dominate, but especially in the finish which is all hops; But without more of a malty backbone, I’m just not all that impressed; The nose is mildly hoppy, but nothing is really standing out here; Medium bodied, and fairly clean and crisp on the palate; Medium golden color; Sizeable off-white head is frottthy on top and has average retention; Fairly dense coating of intricate lacing is left on the glass
