Jun 28, 2009 500ml bottle. Bottled on 4/7/09. Served in a shaker pint. Poured a clear pale gold with two fingers of white head. Big piney hop aroma. For some reason I got a little cat piss, but hey I’ve got cats. It went away quickly. It wasn’t as bitter as the nose would suggest. Medium bodied with a decent malt base. Long dry finish with the mouth pucker you would expect from a DIPA. Maybe could have been a bit fresher. Good beer, but I think I expected more.

Jun 27, 2009 Bottle at E bremerton red apple. Ahh. Pours a cloudy orange color. Nose is citrus and floral - could smell it for longer, if I didn’t already know how it tasted, Inital flavor is citrus/grapefruit floral hoppiness. No dynamic shift as the end of the taste is similar to the front - Balanced and full. Favorite beer right now.

Jun 27, 2009 Wow! Divine. Aroma of nectarine and pineapple. Smoky burnt orange appearance with a well balanced flavor. Lighlty and nicely oily on the tongue. Definitely my favorite by far!

Jun 27, 2009 pours a lightly hazy yellow straw with fluffy white head. Aroma is not as intense as I would have imagined. Bottled on date is 032309. Drinking on 062709. So should be fairly fresh. I am letting it warm a bit. Not much different. Medium to heavy body, nice malt presence to balance the great hops. Very nice, just wish I could smell it better. Just moved to Seattle so maybe I have not adjusted to the climate yet and my nose is lagging.

Jun 26, 2009 Bottle with a big thanks to Italarican. Pours a murky orange, with a somewhat oily viscosity. Head isnt huge, but laces well. Nose is full of grapefruit zest with maybe a touch of Apricot and some spruce branch. Flavor is big on the citrus/grapefruit with some serious northwoods pine thrown in. Palate is very viscous , almost to the point of chewy.....in a really good way. Excellent bitter to it, which is not overpowering, but seems to blend well and make this one of the best IIPA’s Ive had.

Jun 26, 2009 First of all what a beer. The aroma is wonderful, like a bowl of fresh fruit. I could smell this beer all my life if I could. The taste is such a perfect balance of malt & hops. Right when the bitterness kicks in the malt backbone smooths it out perfectly. If there was one beer I had to drink the rest of my life this would be it. I wish it was easier to get.

Jun 25, 2009 Updated: Jul 21, 2009 Bottle BIG thanks to Hophead22. Beautiful floral hop aroma. notes of fruits and flowers on a nice spring morning. They should make pliny the elder cologne. Also a little grapefruit, big juicy hops. This is such a nice beer. Perfectly balanced sweet caramel malts and some grapeffuit. I want to drink this every day for the rest of my life. Considering a flyout to RR just for pliny the younger next time it’s released.

Jun 23, 2009 Bottle. Bright golden color, big foamy white head. Unbelievably huge nose, can smell it from across the room, but a lovely aroma so it’s all good, grapefruit, citrus, other background flora. Flavor is big grapefruit, juicy citrus, some pine, and malts to back up the hop explosion. Dry, clean finish, remarkably little lingering bitterness--smooth, refreshing, and really drinkable. Best IPA I’ve had so far (and I’m not generally a big fan of the style).
