5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This is one of my favorite beers. It’s hoppy with a citrus finish that gives me a warm glow. I drank about 5 pints of this on tap @ O’brien’s Pub in San Diego.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Had two Plinys (Plinies?) at the brewpub while talking beer with Jeff behind the bar (super nice guy who knows his beers). What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Deee-lish! Spectacular balance between malt and hops, visually beautiful, fantastic bitterness. Right up there with 3F Dreadnaught. Well done!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draft at the Toronado. Golden color, great clarity. Off-white head with moderate retention and good lacing. Strong aroma of hops (resin, pine, citrus, ammonia). Initial flavors are hops: resin, citrus, pine. Noticable ammonia notes as well. Strong alcohol flavor kicks in after a few seconds. Toasty malt notes also apparent. Nice bitter finish. Medium body, Moderate carbonation. Nice long, smooth finish for an 8% beer. Some alcohol warmth and dry finish from abundant hops. A strong beer, but very drinkable considering the high hopping level and fairly high alcohol level. Most excellent.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the brewery. It was an excellent crafted DIPA. We went on a beer tasting sojourn in the area. Though this was very, very excellent, outstanding IMHO has to go to Bear Republic in Healdsburg.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On-tap. Pours a slightly yellowish, deep orange color. Fluffy white head that fades, but not completely, and leaves a good amount of lace on the glass. Not as aggressive on the nose as one would expect. Grassy with some pine as well, but not bitter smelling, this brew smells somewhat sweet. Tastes more bitter than it smells. Grassy and citrusy. I taste bitter grapefruit as well as the piney, hoppy flavor you’d expect. Palate is somewhat thickish in a good, hoppy sort of way. Nice carbonation that fades towards the end of the glass. Not the best DiPA I’ve ever had, but still very, very good.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
On tap at Toronado.
Nice dull copper color with an inch of off white head. INSANE lacing, the suds are so sticky they’ll probably have to sandblast the residue off the glass. Good retention.
If somebody suffocated you with a sack of hops, this would be your dying whiff. Monstrous pine, grapefruit, some sweet citrus, citrus rind, a medley of floral notes.
Flavor contains an outrageous amount of hops, but the blend and balance therein makes this beer special. Never acrid or overpowering, the citrusy flavors stand stable. A perfect amount of doughy caramely malt loiters in this festival of hops.
Carbonation is crisp, mouthfeel is very smooth. A terminal bitterness dries the mouth.
I would power through an entire growler of this stuff if I could keep from passing out. Top notch beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz handbottled courtesy of Irishboy! Thanks Richard! Pours an orange amber color with a medium frothy offwhite head that coats the tulip glass like a sheet. Nose of grapefruit hops that pungent and inviting, sweet malts and some resin. Initial taste light-medium bodied, grapefruit/citrus hops light up the mouth with caramel malt presence. Mid palate to finish with sharp bitterness and mild sweet malts. Palate duration is excellent holding that sharp bitterness. ABV is well masked. Great head retention. Very hoppy & tasty double IPA.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at O’Brians in SD.
Not your ordinary IPA.
Strong floral hop essence with a nice balance.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
sIMPLY PUT, ONE OF THE BEST ipa’S EVER BREWED. Indeed, very hoppy, yet the malty noted balance for this extreme brew blends perfectly. I cannot wait to try the "younger" which I believe is there triple IPA.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft. Poured amber with elephantine head comprised of large bubbles & the lacing was gorgeous. Aroma of freshly cut pine. Medium prickliness, as expected. Flavor is lightly sweetened pine boughs, embittering through the long finish. Similar to Arrogant Bastard Ale in flavor. Absolutely no alcohol flavors, so the fact that this comes to 8% surprises me.
