May 6, 2009 Pours blonde, white head. Aroma is hoppy, yeasty and fruity (grapefruit). Taste, hoppy, lots of citrus and grapefruits flavors, giving a light bitter taste. There is a sublte light malty / caramel presence.

May 5, 2009 Updated: May 8, 2009Bottle thanks to DuffManSW. Gold pour with a slight pink tint and a big loose white head with lots of lacing. Lots of bright citrus and bubblegum ester aroma with notes of honey, toffee, and lemon grass. The hop profile is much more bitter and piny than the aroma. There’s still a nice balance of honey and toffee malts. Medium body with soft carbonation.

May 5, 2009 DLD 2009, and thanks to Ughsmash for getting me a glassful: It poured a golden amber body with a decent, sustained head. The aroma was a hop-head’s treat - floral, pine, tart citrus, zest, earth... The flavor almost matched that with a flavorful hop bitterness almost balanced by a light caramel sweetness. The finish was dry with a prolonged bitterness. Very nice.

May 4, 2009 A very piney, grassy, floral aroma followed by a hint of malty sweetness. Moderately bitter, well balanced with the flavoring and aroma hops. Most hoppiness satisfies the middle of the tongue. Finishes clean leaving a slight hint of sweetness on the lips. Medium-bodied, displays a crystal-clear golden-bronze color with moderate lacing, held a 1/8-inch head all the way to the bottom of the glass.
9 out of 10, only because nobody gets a 10.

May 4, 2009 Very seductive DIPA. Pours a peachy amber to golden color with white head that starts thick and dissipates to a thin layer that lasts well. Lace is present.
Nose is the best feature of this ale. I get an appetizing tropical fruit, and perhaps we could call it candied tropical fruit like in those tropical versions of trail mix, where you might get some coconut thrown in for good measure. I’m also picking up something that is in the direction of mango with pineapple.
Taste is grassy and dry up front, with a reflexive mouth pucker from the hops leaping across the palate. Not a lot of malt here, and the alcohol is amazingly subdued.
The hoplover will relish this one but if you’re not into the style I can see why some see it as too much.

May 3, 2009 Pours a golden, slightly rosey color with thick whitish head. Aroma is vibrant with citrus and floral hoppiness and a slight earthiness. Flavor is nearly untouchable, simply bursting with resinous citrus and floral hoppiness. I’ve never experienced a beer with a larger number of flavors within its hop profile. It just seems to change from the first drop to minutes after the last gulp. Unreal.

May 3, 2009 Bottle. Poured a clear light golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is near perfect hops very floral and earthy. Wow this is everything I want and expect from a west coast IPA. Powerfull hop presence without being overwhelming balances nicely with it’s caramel malt base. Dry slightly bitter finish. Excellent.
