Bottle at home (Beermongers, Portland OR) - 22/12/12. Despite studying the bottle I can’t determine which batch this is. Bottled 18/07/12 and at 5.15% ABV so 008-010). Lightly hazed pale blonde with a big white head that quickly clears to the edge and leaves a film in the centre which eventually collapses. Nose is citrus, grass, yeast, light spice. Taste is grass, yeast, pale malt, lemon, light sugar, light mineral tones. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Santa. Huge thanks. Batch 9. Hazy golden pour with no head, light ring of foam. Light carbonation. Aroma was very relaxed. Notes of light Belgian yeast, lemon, slightly dusty with a salty like earthiness. Super, super clean. The technique is there. Flavors were slight sweet and earthy with slight notes of Brett and lemon. All very well rounded and developed, although slightly subdued. Another nice job from Russian River.

12.7oz bottle, batch 12. Served at around 45F.

Pours hazy yellow with a two finger white head that recedes to a small cap and leaves a few sheets and spots of lacing behind.

Very yeasty, dusty, musty aroma, along with banana and a hint of lemon and spice. Good to very good strength.

Flavor is banana, Belgian yeast, lemon, other light fruits, spice, mild sweetness, minimal bitterness, minimal alcohol.

Mouthfeel is on the light side of medium, a bit sticky, good, sometimes sharp carbonation.

Pretty good Belgian-style Blonde or Pale Ale. Not a style I normally seek out, but someone generously gave me this bottle and I’ll never turn down a chance to try a Russian River brew.

Pours a very straw colored body with a very thin head that takes a minute to fade. Smells of fruits: pear, bananas, apples, as well as some spice. Almost hefeweizen in aroma. Very light flavor when compared to the aroma but similar in profile. Slight sweetness in the end. Light-medium body with lingering dryness. Overall underwhelming but still enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Straw blond colour. Initially a soft, malty taste. Later it becomes quite tart. Overall rather bland and watery.

Crushed with TheRon. Corked bottle with Batch 071812 pours a hazy, opaque straw color. Talk about esters. Bananas, spices, other fruitiness flowing through the aroma. Flavor of bananas, light pear-like fruit, and some earthiness. Basically the definition of a Belgian Ale.

Clear light golden color. Small white head. Taste is very "belgian" with lots of banana, yeast esters, some hay, sweet and slightly tart, sweet grassy malts, spicy. Aroma was hard to get since beer was in a small tasting glass at RR but got some hay and grass.

375 mL batch 12 bottle to 6 oz taster Average Brett aroma, musty (in a good way), bread, lemon, straw, and butter. Hazy yellow, no obvious particulates, ample frothy lacy head. Taste is a light lemony sour with a slight tart bitterness at the end. Light body with a creamy texture and a late astringency.

Pours a pale blonde ale with little head and slight lacing. Smells citrusy with a strong acid edge presumably from the brett action In the bottle. A combination of bitter and sour at front with a lot of bitter at the end. Unsure of what the upfront bitterness is of but I'm guessing its the extra carbonation due to the brett. Enjoyable beer but quite light. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - Batch 12 - Lots of bright citrus. Lemon, lime, orange and hay with some grains. Hazy yellow almost no head. Nice light hit of quick bitterness, heavily carbonated and light citrus notes. Very refreshing but a bid bland.
