Rich Belgian dubbel style beer. Lots of dark fruit, especially plum and raisins. Some subtle chocolate. Tried at the brewery in 2014.

Pours jet black with a white head. Good lacing. Tastes of bread, banana, and a hint of coffee flavor. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Russian River. Dark brown in color with a dark fruit and chocolate nose. Taste is somewhat sweet with dark fruit, roasted malt, spices, and belgian candies.

From the sampler tray at the brewery. Cola color. Roasty, nutty, chocolate in flavor and aroma. Excellent.

Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing that coated the glass. Aroma of toffee, yeast, malts, spices, and light citrus fruits. Taste is chocolately, with dried fruits, nuts, and a faint yeastiness as well.

On tap at the brewpub for RR’s 4th anniversary. Pours an opaque, dark brown color with a tan frothy head that reduces rather quickly. Aroma is toasty malt and coffee with a touch of fleshy fruit. Flavor is of those See’s coffee flavored candies with some roasty bitterness and smoke. Chewy and sticky. Really smooth and drinkable.

Draft at the brewery. Deep brown, getting close to black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted chocolate, some lightly roasted malt, crisp hops, and belgian fruit. Flavor is very much the same, some sweet, some dark roasted flavors and hops near the end. Good palate.

Toasted malt with yeast funk, awesome, but a bit confusing. I was wondering what would happen if you combined these styles and it pretty much works. Not exceptional but good.

Deep black pour with a very thin tan-brown head. The nose is lightly plummy and a little bit chewy. There is a bit of soft cocoa and some heavy dark roast. A little bit of molasses in here as well. There is some licorice and a bit of light leathery character. Chewy and full-bodied while still retaining a lightness that helps it down easily. There is a bit of light cocoa and coffeeish character. A touch of date sweetness on the back. It’s quite an interesting beer, actually.
