4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at City beer. This is the new modified version. I had both but I like the actual one much better. It is less harsh, has almost saison like characteristics with nice lemon flavors and a tart but not aggressively sour finish. Very creamy mouthfeel, some dough, just a great beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a slightly hazy deep yellow-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Aroma of Brett and citrus. Medium-bodied with a moderately tart character and flavors of Brett, earthy yeast, grapefruit and pineapples. The finish is mildly sour and funky fruit with a lingering prickly tartness left behind. Very good offering all around.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2013 Bottle from joeneugs, thanks!! Pours a hazy yellow with a nice pillowy white head and an intense carbonation (big bubbles) being showcased. Quite good looking to me. Aroma is a mix of brett and lacto with a dusty character to it, a bit musty too. Taste is bone dry with a nice barrel feel. Wood, citrus and old socks make up the flavor. Carbonation might be a little too intense but I can forgive that. A really fine drink!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle acquired via trade - Pours a slightly hazy orange/gold - thinnest film of a head that hangs on where glass is contacted. Aroma is funk, grapes, highly vinous, slight hints of other fruit - refreshing and a bit more muted than anticipated. Flavor is very brett-forward, funky and slightly sour...mixed tropical fruit in the background, but if you’re not into funk, there’s not much else to offset this aspect. Palate is intriguing - highly effervescent and dries the palate harshly, leaving you clamoring for another sip. I can sum this one up by saying it was excellent, but in a way that I would only appreciate every so often...

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz bottle. Not counting a couple of collaboration beers, this is my first R. River - too bad it has to be a Brett beer. I have a very limited tolerance for Brett. With that in mind:
Pours light amber, hazy, with a small head. The aroma bodes poorly: Brett/ wild ale with some vinegar. Intimidating. Given that, the taste was a bit better but still too funky. Nicely sour with a hint of old bread. Fine medium-light feel.
