Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a orange ruby with medium frothy off white head that lasts awhile leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is cherry skin, brett, and wine. Thin mouthfeel with a strong cherry and oak flavor with very nice sour finish. Really enjoyed this one.

Pours amber, little head, lots of yeast floating. Nose of sour dark fruit, cherries and plum. Sour and plenty of tart cherries. A tad woody on the finish.

Very good sour! Nice aroma, palatable taste that’s not overly sour with hints of cherry.

Bottle 2012 vintage - Little funk but nicely soured with the barrels. Cloudy gold with a thin head. Nice up front hit of sour and bitterness, crisp and very nice.

Wonderful deep red pour with a thin head. Smells sour with a hint of wine in the aroma. Taste is something to behold. Very different from anything I’ve ever had. A must drink for wine lovers. Palate is a bit too sour for my taste but wins points for sheer ingenuity and for the many fantastic flavors. Great beer and worth hunting for!

Clear reddish copper with a small white head that lasts for some time. Aroma is acetic, some green apples, and some slight red fruits touch. Flavor is sour, with some ripe apple, slight lemon and a viney wood note, very good. Medium to light mouthfeel, dry sourness but plenty of favor with a rather gentle aftertaste, refreshing.

Bottle at the Trappist in Oakland. Sour, a little tart, but otherwise smooth and flavoursome. Very dark red with a creamy head. Nice mixture of sour and cherries. Very palatable and quite deep.

Pours a hazy brown with little to no head. Aroma of sour fruit and lite oak and funk smells. Taste is definitely sour but not over the top and cherries with some leather/oak flavors. Overall it is a great sour and a hard to style to duplicate this quality.

I’m new to sours but really enjoyed this. Pours light brown, thin white head that disappeared. Smells tart with a cherry hint to it. Taste is well balanced with the sourness and perfect amount of tart cherry bite. This might be my gateway to sours.

375mL bottle from Belmont Station. 121712 batch.
A: A darker reddish brown with an inch of foamy off-white head. Leaves moderate stains on the glass. Bright and clear with carbonation running throughout the body.
N: Lots of wine grape, vinegar, grapefruit sourness, sour cherries, and rhubarb. I’m getting a whisp of the wood and there’s a distinctly cheesy funk (think irish cheddar for the saltiness). Has a sour doughiness and a fair amount of wet leather and peppered earth from the pinot noir.
T: Moderately sour with a touch of vinegar and acid over the top of a light, fruited sweetness. There’s a touch of salt here which I attribute to the vinegar. Does tend to muddle together a bit.
M: Very well carbonated and it’s very assertive on the mouthfeel. Medium-light body with no alcohol presence.
O: I really want to like this one more than I do. It’s got a lot going for it, but in the RR pantheon, I prefer Consecration, and in the grander scheme, for fair comparisons, I’d probably go with a Rodenbach Grand Cru for about half the price.
