Part of a special "barrel" week at The Beer Junction. $4 for a 4oz pour, 7% ABV. Rich, red-copper color. Tremendous lace sticking to the glass. Aroma was a bit sour and unfortunately, I think I was picking up hints of the sanitation in the glass. Flavor had a mild puckering tang, no hop bitterness and not too sweet. Carbonation was average and viscosity was above average. Delicious aftertaste. This was worth the price for a special treat.

On tap at Russian River. Pours a slight beige head fades with lacing. Brown color with aromas of grapes, raisins, lacto, wood. Taste like aroma with sour finish. very well balanced. medium body and carbonation. Not a big fan of the ageing in Pinot barrels.

Des cerises pointues dans un enrobage pinot élégant. L’effervescence est brillante et aiguise les saveurs, bonne minéralité et finale sèche, vineuse.

Batch 3 was toasty, a bit woody and with just a slight tartness. The fruit was starting to drop out. Batch 4 was fairly clean with the acid, and with balanced fruitiness. Seemed in its prime. Batch 5-2 was fresh, tart, fruity, and stil a little bit yeasty. Batch 5-5 was the weakest of the bunch, malty, not very lively at all. A dud, if you will. Of the 5, the Batch 4 and Batch 5-2 were my favourites.

No retention and no lacing. Smells of Pinot noir, sour Cherri's and apples. Tastes of sour cherries and grapes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

These do not disappoint. Meaning, the RR sours. Sour esters with a hint of wood and grain. A golden brown color with hits of red. Nice foamy head. Full and dry palate. Big flavor of tart fruit, caramel grain and a funky sharp finish. Refined and complex.

Volunteered poured at GABF...wonderful wild ale funky sour and cherry sour both working together so well. I love the carbonation of theses brews from R.R. so champagne like. I loved it.

Bottle. From memory after having this off the shelf before BeerBro came online. Aroma of spring cherry, slightly spoiled milk, funk. Taste is very big cherry, sour, barnyard.

Russian River is always great. You have to like sour ales. Good color. Aroma of cherries gives nice start and finishes well.

375ml bottle. Vinous aroma with notes of cherry. Pours orangish-brown with a lot of carbonation and a thin white head and absolutely no lacing. Rich carbonation in the mouthfeel. Starts quite smooth actually with the sweetness of the cherries coming through nicely. Finishes very tart with the cherry flavor lingering as well as a vinous red wine character that lingers on the palate. Excellent sour.
