Is it beer, or is it wine? "Aged in French oak wine barrels for twelve months with distinct characteristics of fruit and subtle oak" sounds more like a description of wine than beer. But, of course, Temptation is indeed beer. Actually, Temptation is a Blonde Ale Fermented with a special strain of yeast, then aged in French oak chardonnay barrels. Flavors of wine and oak absorb into the brew throughout twelve months of aging. During this aging process, a secondary fermentation occurs using a yeast strain disliked by most brewers and winemakers called Brettanomyces. The "Bret" gives Temptation intriguing characteristics and a pleasant sourness. Temptation is re-fermented in the bottle to create its carbonation--a process commonly used to make fine champagne and sparkling wine. Spent yeast forms a thin layer of sediment to remain in the bottle.

Wonderful stuff. Citrus, and some apricot. Golden pour and some head. Some peel. Light tangy finish. Great beer but seems like somewhat of a legacy rating. Light tangy finish. Bottle big thanks to Travlr.

Bottle. Light hazy deep golden liquid with minimal white head. Aroma of lemon, apple skin, cunty taste, jungle fever, grain, oxidization, light funk and wood. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of apple skin, lemon, light wood, light vinegar and light grain. Light to medium bodied with low carbonation. Really nice! Would’ve preferred more carbonation.

Merci à Mario Hernandez pour cette maudite belle chance. Bottled on: 080315. Finalement.

It s not a Cantillion, I am not going to rate on style in comparison but merely on the merits of the brew. You Americans always tweak things. And this one was a great tweak. Younger tasting than the Cantillions. That said the Vinicius character in this brewery’s beer is really a great dimension to mellow out the sometimes harsh oak. The slight Brett is evident and the acidic tartness is well in balance. Love the mouthfeel and carbonation. Great if not a perfect brew.

Btl pours crystal clear golden color with a soft compact white head. It vanished quickly leaving a ring of foam and spots of lace. Aromas of wood, grape juice, funk( wet horses) and citrus fruit. Taste of white grapes, lemon sour patch kid candy and a hint of wine. Medium body, soft silky mouthfeel, above average carbonation with a tingling on the tongue dry finish. Absolutely wonderful tasting sour beer. This beer is addicting. I love the sour taste, it’s perfect. RR never disappoints. Well done!
