badgerben (3001), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Sep 11, 2005 MilkmanDan’s MN Welcome Night: Hazy yellow color with a medium head. Sour aroma with some hints of nutmeg. Dry lemon taste with a sour finish. Some wheat lingering near the end. The is not nearly as up front as many gueuzes will be, instead it drags it out. Awfully nice!
BMan1113VR (669), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 21, 2008 Batch 003. A gusher. Pours with a small white head covering a hazy gold body with small particles. Some lacing. Aroma of grape skins, light fruit, oak, some spiceyness and dryness. Taste is chardonnay, oak, sourness and dryness. Light big bubbles and a dry puckering mouthfeel. Enjoyed by me more than Supplication (but my girlfriend thought the opposite). mar (519), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2008 bottle thanks to bhops. nice golden yellow pour with a thick white head. sweet almost wine like scent along with some nice sour/fruity notes. easy on the palate with a great tart/sour flavor that is quite good. the finish is awesome as well. no real sourness that goes down just a nice smooth sweet flavor. i must be crazy to rate this so high too. raphael (244), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 19, 2008 pours lightly golden, good effercesence, not much head. aroma of grass, white wine, sour wine, parsnip. light an d silky in the mouth. I’m not a big fan of sour brews, so I appreciated that the sourest taste was the first, the tongue didn’t get numbed relentlessly, After teh first hit of lemon rind comes a less harsh version, with notes of honey and juniper. very well done. Bhops (170), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2008 It’s not wine, certainly. And that’s a good thing. Pours hazy gold. Aroma of sout fruit and chardonney.Flavor is sour, similar to a gueze, though less tart. No sour finish, just kind of fades away. Delightful beer. Alldaydrinker (450), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Jul 19, 2008 Courtesy of Irishboy thanks richard! Pours a golden strawy hazy color with a medium frothy white head. Nose is vinous, salty, citrus, fruits, lemon, hay, funk, white wine. Initial taste is tart, citrus, touch of salt, apples and grapes. Mid palate displays white wine characteristics and touch of oak. Vinous funk moves into the finish that is dry and chalky. Palate duration is above average. Light to medium body. Great head retention and spot lacing of the glass. Acidity is well balanced and satisifying. Crisp, clean and delicous.
