COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale started out as six individual brews, each with their own personality, and all incorporating Brettanomyces and or micro-organisms. Once the barrel aging was complete, Russian River’s Vinnie Cilurzo and Toronado’s David Keene got together to create the final blend. To create its fine carbonation, we refermented the Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale in this bottle. Spent yeast cells form a thin layer of sediment in the bottom of this bottle. Pour slowly, allowing the natural yeast sediment to remain in the bottle.
From the label: The beer inside this bottle is for consumption only. This bottle is not a collectable bottle unless it is empty.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2012 750mL bottle, $35 at Toronado SD. Clear auburn orange with a one finger light beige head that fizzes down to a tiny ring rather quickly--and then those disappear with much rousing with further agitation. Smells like an old oaky sour brown with some light acetic notes, moderate lacto, and a bit of raisins that no longer have any sweetness--more than likely Consecration, said the bartender. A bit leathery with tiny amounts of damp cellar show up when nosing further. Wheaty finish with just the tiniest of buttery brett. Sour acidity peaked at a 6, not too crazy. Low carbonation, medium body. 8-4-8-4-17--4.1

Bottle sample at a sour tasting at our place. Thanks Stas and Vova. Hazy brown with a white head. Berries, a little funk and sherry barrel aroma, funky, very sour, berries and pits in the mouth. Light body, mild carbonation, a little umami aftertaste of tomatoes and olives

Bottle sample at a sour tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Stas & Vova. Hazy red amber with a beige head. Nice aroma of funk, wood, currants. Sour flavor, funky, with wood, some lacto, cobwebs and fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Great stuff.

This poured a Ruby red color with an off white head. Aroma was lots of dark fruit skins, Brett, vinegar, light caramel too. Flavor was very sour, detracting from the underlying.complexities, dark fruit for sure, cherry yogurt, caramelized overiped apples turning to vinegar. Good but too sour.

Pours a cloudy orange brown with a white head. Aroma of vinegar and apples. Taste is pretty darn sour. Not much else there.

Found back notes. Thanks to Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: darker blond like beer, small unstable off white head. NOSE: sour, grapes, wine, oak, fruity, very nice! TASTE: sour, lactic, fruity, not the biggest aftertaste, but very balanced and nice. Very easy to drink, but still enjoyed every little sip

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, slightly hazy dark reddish pour with thin khaki colored head, aroma brought notes of red fruit, oak, vanilla into a bit of vinegar, lacto, yogurt into some slight lemon, spicy notes as well. Taste was a mix of oak, vanilla, spice into nice tart lemon, slight red wine, vinegar, into some slight lacto, funky notes, finishing fairly tart, slightly dry. Nice.

From notes. Tasted on 3/16/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at our epic Bottleworks tasting with Curtis, Jedi, and crews from Knoxville and Nashville, big thanks to Curtis for this one. Pours clear amber with a thick white head that leaves average lace. The nose is sour, signature Russian River funk, along with a bit of raisin and caramel malt. The flavor is sour with some vanilla, currant, raisin, nice funk, and caramel malt. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long oaky, fruity, and sour finish.

Bottle. Clear ruby colored pour, with an off white head. Berries, oak, light funk, cherries, notes of strawberry, some sweetness, moderate acidity, and some lemon grass. Nice, but not as good as I was expecting.

Bottle from the release. Love the anti-EBay description. Beer EBayers sucked massive ones. Cloudy reddish color with a large whitish head. The aroma has cherry, berries, caramel, leather, funk. Moderately sour with a big red fruit flavor and significant -bal essence. Oaky, woody, and somewhat acetic. Nice, biting, lively mouthfeel. Not quite up to T20 level, but good.
