COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This has an initial malt and light caramel flavor and finishes with a dry roasted bitterness. Itís character is dominated by the coffee like aroma and taste from the roasted barley. Balanced out with a perfect amount of hops to smooth out the big malt flavor in every pint of this stout.

I donít know why every one is so hung up on the head and lacing on this beer. Thatís not what this style of beer calls for. This stout begs to be drank. Its an amazing beer.

Bottle courtesy of Butters on 02/21/2011. Dark black body with a very thin off-white head. Sweet chocolate, roast and caramel aroma. Very dry chocolate flavor with some roast and dry bitter finish. Medium body with no carbonation.

Bottle at Natalie's pizza in worthington. Nose is malt and coffee. Pours black with little thick head. Good thick feel but initial smooth taste is followed with some sharp notes of hop and even pepper. Coffee hints throughout are good. Would drink again but not amazing. ---Rated via my mouth

12oz bottle, from And Beer in Athens, OH for $2. Pours a very dark black color, with a good thin brown head, leaves little lace. Awesome bigger dark chocolate flavor, moderate roast, nice light earthy hop. Bigger, chewier body for 5%, very impressive. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Moderate bigger taste, little to no sweetness. Awesome stout. Way better than expected. Tasty and drinkable.

The brewery seems to have gotten some problems ironed out. I bought a 6 of this before and 2 would be flat and 1 overcarbonated. Not now. All 6 were good. Chocolate, coffee with a roasty flavor. Head stays a little longer and I had decent lace in the glass. A year ago it wouldíve gotten a 2.5, itís up a full point now. A decent introductory stout.

12 oz bottle. Thin but opaque black; thin-looking frothy but somewhat fizzy light brown head becomes a thin ring. Aroma roast, ash, smoke, sour, chocolate, and, indeed, lots of Coke. Flavor chalky, roasty, smoky chocolate and lesser but noticeable cola; probably some coffee. Ridiculous level of carbonation here; so fizzy itís almost painful in the mouth. Blech.

Pours black, with a huge, slushy-looking, dark tan head. Scent is smoked......cola. Taste is spot-on cola-like with a stinging amount of carbonation. (like how Coca-cola was in the í70ís in the 7oz bottles.....you remember, the ones that made your chest hurt?) A little dark fruit and chocolate. Honestly, the overabundance of cola and carbonation completely obliterate any other flavours/sensations. Thereís just no "beer-ness" present.....and it certainly isnít a stout by a long way. I wonder if I got a bad bottle?

Very nice smoky chocolate aroma with some coffee and roast malt. The flavor was a bit disappointing though, metallic and harsh. It was very thin as well with a dry finish.

22 oz. Bottle. Decent stout. The best offering from this brewery Iíve had thus far. Black pour with only a white ring on a vigorous pour, not much head at all and zero lacing. Burnt roasted coffee scent with abundant licorice note. A light medium body with a creamy texture and a slightly fizzy finish. Licorice fronted taste, a bit of hop, and a roasted coffee finish.

22oz bottle picked up at the Home Economist Market in Charlotte a couple weeks ago. Split with my wife. Poured my allotment into a pint glass. Consumed on 10/3/10. Reviewed from notes. Pours a very dense dark black. Faint light coming through on the edges. Small finger-width tan head rests on top. Disappears quickly. No lace left behind. I like the color though. Hints of chocolate, graham cracker, coffee, and vinous grapes in the nose. The body creamy at first but finished chalky. Thin aspects at times. Basic flavors of milk chocolate, roasted malts and coffee beans. Finish was a bit drying and chalky as well. Different. A good stout, but nothing standout. Iíd have it again.
