Pete_the_Meat (475), Hove, Denmark May 20, 2008 Brew no 28: Brown with beige head. Pleasant malty aroma with some roasted notes. Malty sweet flavour with notes of roasted bread, rye bread. Coffee (Kenya AA)? A hint of spicyness? Lingers on to a hoppy bitter finish with sheeryish notes. Very good. Jukkabro (2307), Tampere, Finland Apr 2, 2008 (0.7l) Deep dark brown colored with red hints, little yellow head. Caramelly aroma with chocolate, licorice, yeast and some interesting spiciness, mild coffee also comes up with nice fruits. Medium bodied, soft palated. Flavor is more sweet, licorice with chocolate and caramel, still mild alcohol also present. Aftertaste dries with flowery spinach and lasting licorice. Fine brew with fine licorice and convenient sweetness. gunnfryd (2659), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 25, 2007 Bottle. Red brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, fruit, roasted. Flavour is sweet, caramel, hop, roasted. Nice OK beer. yngwie (3322), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 16, 2007 Bottle. (#15) Reddish brown pour, leaving a nice, beige head. Fruity and sweet, roasted aroma with caramel and some chocolate notes. Nice fruity and sweet flavor, quite hoppy, finishing with sweetness and a nice spicyness. Full to medium body. A lovely brown ale. I’m growing more and more fond of this brewery, it’s a pity they don’t have a wider distribution. (071013) hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 7, 2007 Bottle... Dark mahogany ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Acrid aroma of charcoal and earthy, peppery hops weigh heavily upon a chocolate and crystal malt spine. Strange latex note. Nutty, cocoa flavor is moderately sweet with minerally, reserved bitterness. Light to medium-bodied and caustic with lively carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty and then dry finish. Much thanks to boboski for sharing this bottle of beer!
