Commercial Description:

English: Påskeøl was our first attempt on a brown ale style beer because it is well suited for the joys of the lunches at easter. This beer is brewed on nothing but barley malts and without the dark chocolate malt. This was also the first time we began adding hops prior to and after boiling which gives it its strong hop aroma.

Bottle. [thank you myrup!]
Pours a nice hazy amber. Head is medium, slightly yellow and rather foamy. Aroma is sweet, a little roasted and quite spicy. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is powerful, vinious, bitter, some chocolate and caramel. A nice bitterness to the rather long aftertaste. Some sad cardboard in there... too bad... lowers it 0.2

Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a fast disappering head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity with lighter notes of spices and oranges. The flavor is sweet spicy combined with notes of caramel and malt, as well as a light presence of alcohol.

Bottle. Almost clear, copper-colored pour with a dense, beige head. Malty-sweet nose with fruitynessm and some hops in the background. Malty and sweet flavor as well, with some spice and hops. Full-bodied and sweet in the mouth. Somehow it reminds me more of a doppelbock than a brown ale, at least flavor-wise. A really nice beer. (070608)
