Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass very dark, almost black. Starts mild-malty, modest roasty, fine sweet notes in the background. Malty-spicy finish, very drinkable. Really a good one!

It’s mahogany-red with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and light licorice. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, light licorice, syrup, and the finish is dry with a light bitterness. It’s a delicious dunkel.

bottle from Bierzwerg. The back label says it is a Schwarzbier, despite the beer being called Dunkel. Clear deep dark colour, nearly black, dense beige head. Aroma of coffee and roasetd malts. Medium-bodied, slightly malty with intensive flavours of roasetd malts, coffee and dark chocolate. Stout-like smooth and velvety mouthfeel. I think it has more characteristics of a Schwarzbier, rather than a Dunkel. Whatever it is, it’s definitely a nice beer.

Draught: Poured a copper color brown with a tan color head. The aroma was a bit leafy. Taste was acidic and bitter with some malt. Dry finish.

Bottle. The aroma of dark malt, light bitter, reminds me a little bit of a cola without sugar. The head is small, white and creamy-fizzy, fast disappearing. The body is dark red. The taste is in the beginning quite bitter, the beer is dry in the mouth. The finish is light cardboard. The body is medium strong and very dry, especially in the finish. The carbonation is lively.

Grima (2035) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JAN 21, 2011
Dark ruby red color, cream head. Smells slightly malty sweet, roasty and licorice-like. Extremely roasted malt aromas, the sweetness comes easily in the background. The aftertaste is towards licorice / caramel. To the finish point does not change much.
