2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2006 Of all the beers I’ve tried that have rice as an adjunct, this one is probably one of the best. That doesn’t mean that it’s any good, it just seems to be easy drinking, inoffensive and hitting the spot. It poured clear orange-gold with a healthy head that lasted quite a while and laced well until the end. Aroma was basically non existent, with a whiff of the rice and a bit of feed grain. Not too much interest in the flavour, with a restrained bitterness and, contrary to most dodgy lager, only a light sweetness. It certainly went down well, even if it was a bit boring. If I ever make it to Vietnam at least I know there is something there to drink that’s better than VB. (bottle labelled "333 Export" 5%)

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle bought in Düsseldorf at an Asia Supermarket. Thought this one would be pissy and with loads of rice. NO ! It was just a nice and crispy Lager with a strange but drinkable big honey aroma and aftertaste. Still a cheap Lager, but a quite unusual and non-artificial one. Thumbs up !

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Expected something way worse, especially in regard of its score and that it is canned and in regard of the fact that I’ve bought it at an un-airconditioned, too warm and light messy Asian supermarket. Pours out (of the can) in a clear golden colour, low head and medium body. Nose of basement, humidity and malt. Taste of honey, caramel and straw. Malty-hoppy hints. Quite watery and thin finish, overall little bit to sweet and just too simple.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale gold with minimal head. Aroma is somewhat sweet and lightly skunky. Taste is slightly sweet. Loads of cereal and grains. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Meh...new country tick if nothing else.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours golden yellow with a thick white head. The nose is corn syrup. Not much else. The taste is bland. Low sweet is about all I can detect. The texture is crisp and clean, body light and finish is long.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can@Beluga Restaurant, Da Nang. Golden beer with a reasonable white head. The aroma is lightly dry and yeasty, and the flavour is dry and yeasty with bitterness. Overall a reasonable basic lager
