Picked up a bottle while in Seta, Japan. Pours out clear light yellow topped with a small white head. Aroma O wow who would have guessed they also have skunks in Vietnam. Some sweetness after the skunk. Tatse is not to bad light corn, sweetness, and not much else going on.

Bottle. Very pale orange with a white head that soon is less than a coat. Not much aroma at all - vaguely grainy, some cardboard, but mostly not much of anything. Sweet grainy and a little metallic in taste, but mostly just insipid.

Location: Bottle from World Market in Redwood City, CA
Appearance: Light Gold
Aroma: Honey, Honey Nut Cheerios
Taste: Honey up front, some cereal grains, watered-down apple juice in there as well
Overall: Enjoy ice cold, gets too sweet (almost an artificial cereal taste) as it warms

Love the previous note...exactly how I feel about this beer. Crisp, a little syrupy sweetness, faint bitterness and aniseed late. A non event but certainly pleasant enough.

I don’t know. I just have this weird affection for pissy foreign lager. The style bestrides the globe because of its easy charm and some are done well and some aren’t. This is as mild as it gets with innocuous straw malt flavours and some grainy aroma. Perfect for quaffing in its home environment and equally unstable under scrutiny - it’s a bugger-all beer. There’s bugger all to commend it, but bugger-all to condemn it for.

Bottle. Pale yellow with small frothy white head, yeast aroma, high carbonation, slightly sweet malt taste, abrupt finish. Another generic lager.

Hmm, needed a lot of over-spiced phở in order to enjoy this one. Tasted anywhere in Vietnam that had refrigeration, and then off the shelf in Chau Doc a few times - but that’s another story. Bright gold with a lasting, sudsy mess of a head. Initial eggy, tinny and metallic aroma wafts from even the freshest batch. This wanes to reveal light, spicy hop, corn and sweet malt. On the palate it is light and lively with an almost acidic carbonation. Sweet, toasted malt and corn across the mid-palate with a peppery, metallic hop back-end and peaking bitterness. Finishes crisp and just a little soapy. Actually not bad chilled but with the heat of the south of Vietnam that won’t last long. Just another tinny lager. (5.3% ABV)
