This was okay. It was rather unusual with the range of flavours. I have had much much better examples of a scotch ale.

Aug 15, 2008 Dark brown with a tan head. Malty-sweet smoky aroma with some peat. Strange bittersweet combo of flavors-not like any other Scotch ales I remember-but it worked for me. Lots of sweet caramel, chocolate and coffee flavors. Finishes kinda dry and smoky. The smoke & peat flavors hang around & take over the malt flavors. Different.

Aug 6, 2008 From tap at Pizza Port, San Clemente. Pours dark brown to black with a lacing white head. Roasted malty aroma. Light fruity and malty dense flavour. Lingering fruity and malty finish. Simple yet tasty.

Jul 11, 2008 A different beer in many aspects. The aroma is sour, almost of spoiled dairy, but in a good way. Flavor is very chocolatey and of cappucino. Not as good as I’d hoped for, but satisfying nevertheless in its own odd way.

Jul 8, 2008 22 oz bottle purchased at the SBC brewpub. Goofy name, goofy lable, and funky beer. The beer had a musty aroma and a roasted, mossy flavor, with aftertaste of toffee. Did I detect a note of raisins? Poured a dark brown color with not much of a head. A decent change of pace beer.

Jul 1, 2008 Bomber a gift from Bikesandbeer, because he knows I like Scotch Ales and its a local from where he grew up. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose is really a big old blech. Taste is a little sweet with some roastiness and some caramel. Overall this is a big old flop and a an even bigger drain pour.
