The Felix (JDW), Nuneaton, 29/12/12. Dark for Sadlers; chestnut, almost, with a skim of cream head. Berries, orange and bread in the nose. Full, slightly oily mouth with hedgerow, orange and stone notes. Pretty bitter, almost astringent on the swallow. Not great.

Cask conditioned handpump Slug & Lettuce Leicester 05/12/12. A light brown coloured beer with a white head. A reasonable amount of hops in the nose and mouth but struggling to shine through the low serving temperature. Sweet malty fruitiness. A bit cakey in places. Reasonable but not really Christmassy.
