Cask; Special.
Dr.Hardwickeís Double IPA 8.5%. Brewed with huge amounts of 3 varieties of American Hops, added continuously over a 85 minute boil and then dry hopped in the fermenter and cask. What better way to enjoy soring that with a pint of 8.5% Double IPA :)

Big thanks to richthevillan for this bottle. Golden beer with small head. Aroma is pineapple and tropical fruits. Taste is tropical fruits, light pine resin, a touch of alcohol and a hint of sherbet. A little oil on the palate. Nice DIPA with muted resin flavours. Very good.

Cask at the Wharf, Macclesfield. Medium gold with a thin to medium almost white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, quite malty, more hoppy fruity flavours but still not enough for me. Quite thin bodied. Not bad.

Cask handpump at The King Charles II, Worcester, Saturday 4th January 2014. Warm gold, clear as a bell with a slim white head atop. Strength is apparent, sweet side of bittersweet, really warming, this is big, big beer. Hoppy and malty but I think the sweetness is a little too much. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask at The Windsor Castle Inn during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds ripe citrus and booze-soaked oranges. Big sweet flavor with moderately dank citrus, orange especially, alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with still more ripe citrus, mild resins, booze. Itís heavy stuff but I suppose a decent effort for a cask DIPA.

bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy golkden colour, mid-suezd off-whitebhead. Malty base, lovely hops in masses, resiny-hrassy-citrusy character. Very nice!

Cask @ The Windsor Castle on the RB Black Country Bash. A welcome respite from the waterboarding of golden ales I had that day. The pourís medium gold with a small head. The nose is quite bright. Plenty of mango, tropcial fruit salad. A bit of salty pissy funk. Pineapple. Generally similar flavors. Slightly syrupy, slick sweetness. Pear and mandarin orange citrus. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, a bit cloying on cask. Would like to try a kegged edition.

Bottle form Darts Farm. Boatloads of hops very much at the forefront for this very drinkable if undistinguished DIPA. Astringent cirtus, powerful fermenting tropical fruits, and distilled pine needles carry through from start to finish. Not a long way from the Brewdog DIPA available in some Tescos. Nice.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Brewery Tap (The Windsor Castle) on 6th July 2013 during the Black Country Bus trip. Light amber/golden body: on top a rocky white crown that stayed the distance. Spicy hop nose with some sweeter malt notes arriving as the beer warmed in the glass. The taste was also hop first with a semi-sweet biscuity malt feel before the a hop bitterness with citrus hints closed the deal. Didnít notice the alcohol strength in the flavours at all: a fine beer.

Black Country Beano. Cask at the Windsor Castle. A DIPA on cask. Cracking! Clear deep gold beer, little white head. Softish palate with fine carbonation. Floral sweetness leads to rich tangerine and orange peel. Light pine and hop spice. Finishes light and dry and leaves a lingering hops spice aftertaste. A fine beer, best on tap all day.

Moderate piney aroma backed with caramel maltiness. Flavor loses the pine notes and gains strong bitterness. Lacking in hop flavor and aroma but pretty good
