4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask at Windsor Castle, Lye. Golden, with cream top. Smells real good. It’s a sweet beast to be sure, but the warming, thick, genuinely rich hop flavour comes through and asserts itself. Booming. Some plastic dryness meshed in the finish, but this is excellent.

Delighted to find this as a cheepo in B&M bargains. Poured amber with a white head. The taste in nice and hoppy, though nowhere near as much as you might expect from the style. There are notes of grapefruit and pine over quite a syrupy base. There’s a nice bitterness to it as well. Overall a really enjoyable beer that’s a few hops short of being exceptional.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2014 Bottle from B&M, pours a gold copper colour with a thin white head. Taste is sweet with a fairly mild hop kick, syrupy malt, thickish for an IPA, some resin and fruit, a nice bitter finish though could do with a few more hops.

Bottle from B&M. Clear gold. Film of white head. Minty toffee. Golden syrup. Taste is sweet. There’s some resin bitterness. Light spice, too. Palate is oily. Soft carbonation. Finish is long, slightly boozy, piny bitterness. Factor in the price, and this is pretty good.

Big thanks to richthevillan for this bottle. Golden beer with small head. Aroma is pineapple and tropical fruits. Taste is tropical fruits, light pine resin, a touch of alcohol and a hint of sherbet. A little oil on the palate. Nice DIPA with muted resin flavours. Very good.

Cask at the Wharf, Macclesfield. Medium gold with a thin to medium almost white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, quite malty, more hoppy fruity flavours but still not enough for me. Quite thin bodied. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask handpump at The King Charles II, Worcester, Saturday 4th January 2014. Warm gold, clear as a bell with a slim white head atop. Strength is apparent, sweet side of bittersweet, really warming, this is big, big beer. Hoppy and malty but I think the sweetness is a little too much. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at The Windsor Castle Inn during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds ripe citrus and booze-soaked oranges. Big sweet flavor with moderately dank citrus, orange especially, alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with still more ripe citrus, mild resins, booze. It’s heavy stuff but I suppose a decent effort for a cask DIPA.

bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy golkden colour, mid-suezd off-whitebhead. Malty base, lovely hops in masses, resiny-hrassy-citrusy character. Very nice!
