Bottle at home from B&M Watford. Dark red chestnut brown colour with cream head. Aroma is initially choc, earthy and berry fruits. Later some mud / earth comes through in the nose. Flavour is rounded chocolate, some caramel and an earthy roast. Quite sweet caramel and coco. Medium full rounded body, Fairly sweet finish.

Bottle, B&M. Another surprise find in B&M, lovely dark colour, thin head but lasts well. Good fresh malty nose, not as complex as Iíd expected. Lovely, well balanced palate, smooth and malty but with lots going on in the background, the finish is long lasting. Lovely brew!

Bottle from B&M. Clear, very dark brown. Minimal, off white head. Rum and raisin chocolate. Hint of coffee. Taste is light sweet. Fruity dry. Smooth, light chocolate palate. Dry, light bitter finish. Pretty decent, especially at B&M prices.

500ml bottle from BM Stores, courtesy from Mark Allender. Tasted this on the 25th December 2013. Pours thick dull black with a thick pale cream buff head. Strong sweet aroma of creamy Milky Way bar and fudge. Thick double cream mouthfeel which seems to get thicker as you finish. Poor lacing which rapidly vanishes. Dark complex malts give a rich sweet chocolate cake base infused with heavy chocolate truffle, treacle toffee and dark plum fruit. There is a strong grain element in the weak bitter aftertaste, with just a slight nod to hop resins as the oats & wheat intensify the thickness. The finish is solid malt as smooth dark Belgian chocolate combine with milky coffee, sweet molasses and damson fruit. This is a complex stout that is very heavy going and beats Youngers No3 in the mouthfeel catagory. One bottle is more than enough!
