Bob Maltman, SAGRA Beer brewer and Pepe Rodríguez, head chef of Restaurant El Bohio de Illescas - Toledo (Current National Prize of Gastronomy and Michelin star), have joined to create the first Spanish craft beer designed to accompany the dessert. The idea was born under the obsession of both fresh produce and develop a tract to be the perfect companion to pair with a dessert. To this end, has developed a triple malt beer with extra stores and conditioned in the bottle. The result is an ale-type beer, triple malt, balanced, color and aroma of chocolate, with hints of caramel and apple. Ideal to accompany any dessert or served as an appetizer.

Se sale de los barley wine habituales, tiene poco gas, mucho cuerpo y un punto final a regaliz. Quizás demasiado dulce. No me gusta demasiado.

Bottle @ Gran Canaria. Small fizzy head that mostly disappeared. Black color. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, hint of sour yeast, caramel, liquors, grain, coffee. Medium body. Moderated sweet flavor with some counter bitterness. Lingering sweet malt finish. Feels more like an imperial Porter.

11.2 oz bottle from Party Source at home. Pours a clear cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have mild roasted malts, chocolate, a minty character, fruit, apples, mild spices, wood, and a light smoked character, thin for a 10% beer, not much sign of the abv, ok.

Donkerbruine kleur, weinig kraag. Ruikt zoetig, rozijnen. Smaak is ook zoet maar behoorlijk vlak. Vaag likeur. Lichte afdronk, weinig nasmaak.

Bottle at Gran Canaria. Clear dark brown pour. Aroma of licorice, ripe fruits, caramel, sugary malts and some chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet, slightly bitter in the finish. Decent body. A bit boring, but well made.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Murky dark brown, beige head. Aroma is young / green, alcohol, roast barley. The taste is sweet cold coffee, alcoholic bitterness. Needs some time and feels homebrew-ish. Mediocre.

Botella. Negra opaca. Poca espuma. Con posos. Aroma a pasas, caramelo, café. Muy bien En boca, fantástica. Muy cremosa. Vuelve el caramelo muy destacado, café, algo de chocolate... Cada trago dice algo. Muy disimulado el alcohol. Redonda. Una gran cerveza

Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, pecans, walnuts and a bit more earth - pungent. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong caramel and pit fruit flavours at first give way to a lot of malt, coffee and chocolate flavours. Aftertaste shows a refined sweetness from the caramelised sugars and a nice chocolate (light, ~40% cacao) and spicey finish. Overall, a nice rich beer that was better than I expected. Definitely not a barley wine, but strong of course, and deep roasty malts make for a nice beer. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased earlier in the day at Murray’s Cheese in New York, New York on 20-June-2015 for US$5,99 sampled in my hotel room later in the day on 20-June-2015 on the LES of New York.
