COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bob Maltman, SAGRA Beer brewer and Pepe Rodríguez, head chef of Restaurant El Bohio de Illescas - Toledo (Current National Prize of Gastronomy and Michelin star), have joined to create the first Spanish craft beer designed to accompany the dessert. The idea was born under the obsession of both fresh produce and develop a tract to be the perfect companion to pair with a dessert. To this end, has developed a triple malt beer with extra stores and conditioned in the bottle. The result is an ale-type beer, triple malt, balanced, color and aroma of chocolate, with hints of caramel and apple. Ideal to accompany any dessert or served as an appetizer.

It has some chocolate, brown sugar, carbonation, malt flavors but its a little shallow overall. A touch of some syrup/molasses. But just muted a little too much behind carbonation (although not it surprisingly wasn’t really there on the mouthfeel).

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2013 Cerveza marrón espumosa muy sabrosa y dulce, pero quizás demasiado se hace empalagosa.

Pours very dark with a light cola colored head. The aroma is flat and sweet without too much complexity. The palate is similar, but there is some differentiation in there... cola, toffee, and cookie dough. Overall its fine, but nothing more.

Bottle, consumed in my Madrid hotel room while I watched the NFL on my iPad. Technology is awesome. Reddish-black. Thin but firm head. Sugary, rich-brown sugar, molasses, and a bit of smoke, too. Good stuff. (#4845, 12/2012)

amazing dessert beer! The 10% ABV tastes like 7.5% so very dangerous. Pours oily black with a very little tan foam. Nose is bitter chocolate/espresso/licorice with some black cherry in there. Prickly silky mouthfeel and the flavor is immense with all the aromas mentioned plus a whisper of smoke. Sweet initial flavors are balanced with bitter coffee/chocolate aftertaste. I liked this on its own - but take the brewer’s suggestion and have it with a chocolate or vanilla dessert and it is amazing!

Puede ser de las cervezas españolas artesanas con más graduación. Color tostado oscuro. Espuma volátil. Sabores a toffe y moca. Puede beberse fria o no demasiado. Presencia del alcohol.

Bought in Cervezorama. Hazy brown color, almost black. With thin head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts and yeast. Full bodied, smooth, with a quite good flavor of roasted malts and dark chocolate, maybe too much sweet and liquorice, correct bitterness. Quite good.

Bottle from my daughter. Dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma roasted malt, coffee, ash. Taste, starts sweet, continues with dark chocolate, coffee, roastiness. Light bitterness in sweet finish. Good.
