A very dark beer, with a quickly dissipating frothy white head. It has a dry, coffee taste, but a very light mouthfeel

Easy bottle to find in Portugal. High coffee aroma and quite dark color. Beautiful light brown head and average carbonation. Easy and nice to drink for coffee lovers.

11.2-oz bottle from City Sandwich on 9th Ave. As far as I know, the first Portuguese beer I’ve ever had. This was kind of a strange experience. I ordered my sandwich to go, and when they asked if I’d like a drink, I asked for one of these. The cashier then proceeded to pop the bottle open even though I was taking my food home, so I said fuck it and sat down to drink it. The smell from the bottle was grain and metal, and the first sip made me think this beer was repulsive. I sipped slowly for awhile, and when my food was finally ready, I took the rest of the bottle home and poured it into a shaker. It pours black with a big, porous, khaki colored head. Aroma is actually very light and roasty chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel as it warms up, but not a ton of flavor. Roasty, subtle malt profile and sweet finish.

draft. schrawz-like heavy burnt toasted malt. chalky burnt bread crust throughout. benefits from freshness and lacks flaws, but simple.
