DruncanVeasey (7191) - NUNEATON, Top 18, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2014
One of the best beers of my Algarvian jaunt. Says it all. Good looking reflective black capped with subsiding grey-tan. Aroma of rust, leaf matter, puffed rice, rye and malt loaf. Some realistic ash and schwarz-like rust, chocolate and black bread on the palate; mellow coffee in the finish. Decent n/a with shades of roasted and chocolate character that shames some alcoholic stouts.

330 ml bottle from premiumnearbeer.com. Pours a clear, dark chestnut brown with thin light tan head - the darkest low alcohol beer I’ve had. Aroma is sweet cardboardy grains and corn. Flavour likewise. Predictably weak body. Maybe a hint above the typical de-alcoholized fare, but still quite underwhelming.

33cl bottle at the Watford tasting thanks to Paolo and the airport lounge for this one. It purs amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is corn syrup and chestnut powder, quite fake. Taste is sweet malty and grainy with chestnuts and corn syrup. Quite bad overall.

I had it a while ago, but I still remember that it is not as bad as I thought at first. Quite drinkable.

Bottled 330ml. -from Jumbo Cascais. Almost black coloured, small off-white head, grainy caramel nose. Sweet pop corn like taste with quite sweet caramel notes. To simplify too sweet and not good.

Theydon_Bois (8667) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - SEP 12, 2013
Bottle at the hotel in Cascais, from Jumbo Cascais, 12/09/13. Pours dark chestnut brown with a moderate light tan covering. Nose is beef stew, gravy, artificial sugars, corn, grain. Taste is aspartamic, grain, cereals. Light bodied, thin and watery, moderate carbonation with a little spritz. This looked like no other sub 1% beer in that it wasn’t the usual pale blonde/gold affair - however it’s taste was sub par when compared to such offerings! SINK !!!

Minibottle @ home, found in my camping luggage, god knows how long it’s been there. Aroma is grainy corny malt. Not a good start. Flavour is wort like metallic cardboard garin malt. Had worse, had better.

from le Monde de la Bière, Sion - pale and clear golden beer with a chaotic foam left; aroma of wort and waste; tasteless and thin-bodied; corny finish with more notes of wort - disgusting
