3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2013 A fantastic pale lager - fruity, malty and enrichened by a delicate aftertaste of finely balanced sweetness and hoppy bitterness.

C’est vraiment de la bière de chantier, carajo, fade et cela va bien juste pour se désaltérer, si on a rien d’autre sous la main.

If you go to Portugal stick with the amazing wine. There are only to major brands Sagres and Superbock , both are terrible but Sagres is really awful. One can taste the corn and the annoying sweet flavor.

Uuuh. That is really bad. Sweet malt, corn, dirty rag aroma. Watery metallic sweet taste with very unpleasant vegetable finish. Awful. Heineken rules. I better get some wine here.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Portugal’s national standard lager since 1940, with snow white, thick and frothy, even slightly gushing head supported by very strong, fizzy carbonation; colour a cristal clear, pale golden blonde. Very weak aroma (even at higher temperature): some corn sweetishness, hint of white bread, iron, field flowers and a whiff of grassy hops. Sweetish in the onset, corn, a tiny bit bready, very metallic with the expected strong carbonation; finish is mostly the lingering malt and corn sweetness, insufficiently balanced by a trace of floral and grassy hop bitterishness. In all: thirst-quenching as you can expect from the style, but just another generic standard pale lager, with too much corn sweetness and too metallic. I wonder when the craft beer revolution is going to reach Portugal - but considering the fact that it is already penetrating in its neighbour Spain, I expect something to happen there too within the coming years.

Can from The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) Pours a clear pale golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of roasted grain, maize, mineral and a subtle herbal spiciness. Taste of maize, grass, sweet bread, mineral and spice. Moderate carbonation and a thin, watery texture. A sweet, cardboard finish. Don’t like the aftertaste at all.

Lys brun farge med tynt hvitt skum. Lukter malt og sødme. Lettdrikkelig, noe vannete. Noe malt og krydder i smak. Medium karbonert.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2015 1 litre bottle (with twist top!) into glass. Pours amber with many fine bubbles. Nose is very sweet though faint. Watery body with a bit of spritz. Aftertaste is bad, lingering vegetables, tin and a hint of bubblegum. Not enjoyable. I’m drinking this ice-cold, can’t imagine how bad it is when it warms.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear, gold, with a frothy, creamy-white head.
Distinct lemon, grain aroma.
Taste is a little soapy, dull grains, very light caramel malt.
Sweet and creamy, but bland...
Not bad, just lacking in brightness.
It just sort of ..."is what it is".....
