1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours that weird gold colour that tells you it´s adjunct-ladden. Has a corn flavour and a sweet maltiness. Weird side flavours. This will be my last asian beer, I guess. Could have had a good belgian stong ale for the same price.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Exported to where? Even when consumed locally this clearly has a character of typical adjunct assisted beer. There is a clear grain flavour which in this part of the world should be rice, but surprisingly it has a real presence that belies the use of this neutral adjunct. The hop presence is thin and uninspiring, as is the absence of real body. The other gripe is that this is never served really well chilled. Not cold but chilled. A warm sample of this is not something to be happy about.

0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Beany sweet aroma, with corn and sugar and very little hops. Sorghum. Pale yellow clear with thin foamy white head. Little lacing. Thin watery body with almost no carbonation. Lightly sweet flavored water - tiny hops bite, but mostly disgusting off-flavors. With the palate - really kills this beer. Almost a salty aftertaste. Horrible.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Light gold colour. Medium body. A little bit sour and wet. Grainy. Wavers between refreshing, too fizzy, and downright unpleasant.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear gold; thick yellow head, not very lively. Nose with grain, bit musty. Taste is sweet malty. Slight hoppiness in the background. Thin waterish texture. Ever so slightly metallic, even plastic-like taste at the end in the palate. After some time, the hoppiness keeps hanging around, diminishing the crude over-sweetness of the first taste. It helps rounding it a bit, but cannot save it.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Blond color, persistent head. Very light aroma, paper. Light taste, watery, boring, with just a higher bitterness, at the end.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Looks a lot like fruit flavored ginger ale. Aroma is very sweet and seems somewhat like mangos. Tatse is rather hoppy and bitter, lightly sweet and hints of fruit that I think are mangos. Finishes bitter and slightly sweet. Far and away the best Asian beer I have ever tried.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2003 Big white head atop a clear straw/golden body. Aroma is sweet, corn/malty, apple. Taste is corn sweet, apple juicy, mild, innocuous. Light watery body. Worked ok with the spicy Vietnamese food I had fairly well, but that's the only positive thing I can say.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Highly carbonated, the inside of the glass was coated with bubbles. Little head. Crystal clear golden color. A mild sweet malt nose. No chemical scent as in many SE Asian brews. Any hope I had of a surprising decent beer were dashed the moment this touched my lips. It's not vile, just another run of the mill watery lager that is the norm for SE Asian beer.
