bottle, at an Asian restaurant ’round the corner. Clear golden colour with a small (rather tiny) white head. Fruity-sweet nose. Malty with a fruity toch (apples), marzipane, dusty hops and a touch of alcohol. Not brilliant but quite ok to wash down, err.. I mean accompany the spicy food.

Had a bottle. Poured a light, gold-yellow with a thin white head. Smelled of corn and malts.Tasted sweet - like honey - with mild malt notes but few hops. Felt fairly good to drink, but not great. A so-so beer overall.

perfectly serviceable and fruity. smoke character seems to have been removed from these brews and for good reason. i like to eat after a couple and beers like this are my favorites particularly in the summer.

Drake (11469) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - AUG 1, 2009
12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a thin fizzy head. Aroma of sweet grains, corn, rice, slightly astringent wine like character. Taste is rice, corn, bread, sweet malts, vanilla, fruity notes. Watery, thin bodied. It seems a little bit trashy but there are some interesting things in there as well. Overall not too terrible.

Taverner (1100) - San Ramon, California, USA - JUL 23, 2009
Not great, not remarkable - hey it has alcohol right? Yellow with white head, tastes like lightly used malt water. Nothing offensive about this beer, nothing good either.

Ober (2813) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2009
A clear yellow colored beer, with a white head. It disappears quickly. The aroma has a little fruits and some malt. The taste also a little fruit and a little dry bitterness. The aftertaste ihas some rubbery.

Saarlander (1686) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - JUN 24, 2009
Quite a boring beer, poured nice colour, with lasting head, but flavor is nearly non existant, with that said, there’s not any bad flavor, its just very watery with slight grass flavor, very drinkable, but bland.
