COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Australia holds a special place in our hearts here at Karl Strauss Brewing Company. After all, while on a trip through Australia it was the Sail & Anchor Hotel that provided the inspiration to start a brewery in San Diego. (...) Medium body with well balanced malt and hop characteristics. Pours a bright red hue in the glass, with lingering hoppy, grapefruit and tangerine aromas.

Pours copper with light head but little carbonation. Malty with biscuit, caramel and soil on front of tongue. Possibly caramel. Great mouthfeel. Bit of bitterness on the finish that lingers nicely. Really like this beer as an experience. Glad it came in 640ml bottle. Got Karl Strauss touch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 640ml bottle on 22/4/2014. Pours a clear amber with a falrly big head. The aroma features a touch of light fruit and sweet malt. Taste wise, it’s more substantial, with sweet biscuity and caramel malt, raisins, tangerines, figs and just a hint of cherry, followed by some pretty firm hops. The palate tends towards creamy and the carbonation is average. All up, a pretty good amber ale.

Jado (527) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - APR 17, 2014
From 640 ml bottle. Pours a clear red-brown with a dissipating off-white head and very light carbonation. Aromas of caramel, flowers and lemon. Taste is sweet biscuit and raisins at the front before a crisp hop bite in the mid-palate. Drops away pretty quickly at the end, leaving a lightly fruity aftertaste. Not bad.

640mL bottle. Pours a very nice light clear ruby red hue with a very light aroma, some caramel and citrus hops. Hops are more prominent in the flavour with the resinous grapefruit/grassy notes back by the nice caramel malt.

KeefOz (917) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - MAR 30, 2014
Tasted 28/3/2014. Draught at Young & Jackson’s, Melbourne. Poured a deep coppery red colour with a one- to two-finger off-white frothy head that retained very well and laced well. Carbonation moderate with medium to large bubbles forming many trails. Aroma initially malty then followed by fruity hops which dominates. Taste of very pleasant fruity hops as well as sweet caramels. Medium body. Smooth, fruity, a bit sweet but very different/nicer to many other red ales tasted.

A decent amber ale from two great breweries. Toffee, caramel, reasonable alcohol taste and a good amount of bitterness. Well done on the limited release guys!

Bottle - pours ruby with a tight tan head. Lots of flowery citrus, nettle and peach on the aroma. Moderate bitterness followed by a big dry hit at the end. Nice creamy palte. Good drop.
