Monkey’s Fist. The one with an unexpected punch! "Time Gentlemen!" used to be the most dangerous thing you could say in The Sail & Anchor. As many a black eyed seafaring man can testify, a thirsty sailor never takes kindly to closing time and always settles bar room ’discussions’ with a flailing Monkey’s Fist knot. Like the original show stopper, our Monkey’s Fist Pale Ale packs an unexpected fruity punch, a knock out blend of American hops and a tingling bitter aftertaste that will refresh even the saltiest seafarer.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2014 Nice lemony zest aroma with some honeycomb, decent enough head that reduces to a little bit of lacey foam, medium mouthfeel but an overriding bitter astringent finish that lasts and overpowers the other milder qualities the beer has. Still pretty good though.

Bottle. pours a cloudy gold Aroma. nothing too exciting on the nose, a bit of citrus and that’s about it. Taste. nothing too exciting here, citrussy and slighty sweet. Overall. an average beer, nothing special, one i may recommend to someone new to craft beer.

Meh. Poured at a good temp with a very modest off-white short lived head and a bit of lace. Color is a clear honey amber. Aroma is musty, not much bearish, don’t pick up much malt or hop. Flavor’s like nose, bitter stands out along with carbonic tang, fairly dry almost as similar to epa as apa.. Body is ok, carbonation a bit harsh. Finish is like flav, thankfully not too long.

Bottle. Sour, fruity aromas. Fizzy body with a broken-up head. Started a little sticky and overdone at first, but malts kicked in decently along the way. Back-of-stamp herbal hops, citrus and dust. Short bitter finish. Meh.

bottle. from fridge. poured into a lager glass. for a non-descript lager, this is really quite nice. lovely malty aromas with some caramel, flora notes, and maybe a hint of herbs. clear amber orange, with sufficient carbonation - small bubbles continue after sitting in glass. medium lacing. slight carbonation / some sweetness with bitter aftertaste lingering..
