Smooth mellow gently woody aroma, sweet and rich. Looks lovely, a rich rusty orange. Super smooth in the mouth, succulent, and with just enough carbonation to make the sweetness not too sticky. Lovely mellow bready vapours - clearly packing, but not boozy. Slips down so easily, one pint is most likely to be followed by another!
Rerate: Aged vertical
BB2012-11: 6:4:6:3:13=3.2, some raisin even in aroma, nice hoppy bitterness, clear, and beautiful.
BB2011-05: 6:3:7:4:14=3.4, more oxidised, still hoppy, has gone a little misty.
Looking forward to a 3-way vertical in a few years time!

330 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma has sweet malt, dry fruit and hint of warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, dry fruit, raisins, prunes, caramel, low bitterness and warming alcohol. Fine body and nice, sweet aftertaste. Perhaps more like a barley wine than Belgium dubbel, but otherwise nice and tasty.

14.3.2014. Copper orange with quite thick head. Aromas are coming when pouring: slightly roasted caramel malts, belgian yeast, fruits. Taste has some kind of fruits and berries, sweet malts, going towards belgian yeast and pretty strong spices and bitter herbs. Despite spicy finish, a bit simple. Also a bit alcohol. Ok but kinda not enough in this class.
