Smooth mellow gently woody aroma, sweet and rich. Looks lovely, a rich rusty orange. Super smooth in the mouth, succulent, and with just enough carbonation to make the sweetness not too sticky. Lovely mellow bready vapours - clearly packing, but not boozy. Slips down so easily, one pint is most likely to be followed by another!
Rerate: Aged vertical
BB2012-11: 6:4:6:3:13=3.2, some raisin even in aroma, nice hoppy bitterness, clear, and beautiful.
BB2011-05: 6:3:7:4:14=3.4, more oxidised, still hoppy, has gone a little misty.
Looking forward to a 3-way vertical in a few years time!

33cl bottle from some Alko in Helsinki. Pours clear copper coloured with a small off-white head. Caramely and malty aroma with notes of dried fruits and spices. Very sweet and caramely with notes of raisins and a quite light bitterness in the slightly spicy finish. Caramel bomb and way to sweet for my taste.

On bottle with Visionthing, thanks a lot. Amber color, some foam. Medium aroma intensity; malt, dried fruits, some honey and fruitiness. Medium body & complexity. Immediately sweet, not much bitterness to balance it. Enjoyable, but too sweet ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Saimaan Luostari Dubbel) 330 ml bottle from jookos, thanks! Served into a tulip, ABV 7.5% Amber coloured beer, with a clear body and a small and thin tan head sitting on top. Low retention, light lacing left on the glass. Aroma has toffee, caramel, spices giving it an interesting touch. Taste begins with the aforementioned spices, cardamon and coriander seeds, then caramel follows, toffee, ending with faint metallic notes that are not annoying in any case. Thin on the body, with the carbonation on the low side. Overall quite good, with a bit more body would be even better, maybe with stronger aroma as well. Still, very drinkable with the spices on the right quantity.
