Draught. Pours dark brown in color with a foamy tan head. Licorice and light salty seawater in aroma. Flavor is quite similar at first. Some sweetness is there as well, might be some fudge perhaps and some milk chocolate notes appears. Light spicyness with some roasted coffee notes in finish along with some licorice as well. Quite tasty.

Keg (Bruuveri, Helsinki) as "Sportteri" Batch 2.
Very dark red, you can now see through it with a bright enough light. Nose is more stodgy malts, and cheap milk chocolate, however, there’s a subtle hint of bacon too. But where are the hops?!?!? TOffee and coffee taste - lovely. Some sherbet, so the hops are there somewhere. Long hoppy finish, with toffee and some burntness living on. Not as good as batch 1, the aroma let it down a little. (6-4-7-4-15=3.6) Maybe that’s a bit stingy?

Kaatuu lasiin mustana ja niukalla vaahdolla. Haju on valtavan savukinkkuinen, lisäksi paahteisen puinen, hieman suklainen ja lievää hedelmäisyyttä on ehkä taustalla. Maku on paahteisen savuinen, hieman kinkkuinen, puinen, havuinen ja valtavan suolainen. Suutuntuma on täyteläisen katkera. Kokonaisuutena ihan ok porter, ei sen enempää, muttei toki vähempääkään.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2012 Draught. Black with slight, tannish, head. Nose has roasted malts, sweet licorice, some chocolate. Body is quite soft and nice. Not as thick and tar-y as expected, but rather drinkable. Dark spices, some oakyness. A bit hot. Imo the roastedness is a bit sharp still, and there’s noticable dusty yeastiness. Intensive flavours though, probably a bit young still.

Bottle at the brewpub!
The beer is pitch black in the glass with a beautiful, high, thick and creamy off-white head. It smells strongly malty with chocolate, roasted malt, toffee and coffee. Starts massive malty with a lot of coffee and bitter substances, paired with sweet chocolate and caramel. The middle part is massive malty, dominated by coffee and sweet chocolate. In the background, some licorice is noticeable. The Porter goes into a very coffee-malty finish with chocolate and roasted malt. In the background a slightly smoky note is noticeable.
