Marduk (2009) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 12, 2013
330ml bottle. Murky, muddy look. Small off-white head. Faint smoke, malty and grainy notes in aroma. Woody, grainy, dead yeast, cork in flavor. Moderate bitterness, but not offensive. Dry yeast is bit disturbing and doesn’t fit in.

330ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
Slightly sweet smokey aroma, a little bit stodgy. Dark brown, tight beige persistent head. Herbal retronasals, gentle smoke too. Refreshing palate, crisp carbonation. Slightly dry yeasty body, barky, and earthy - of course a fair smokiness too. Finish dry and smoky. Pretty tasty, but a little unrefined compared to Heller’s brews.

Bottle. Hazy reddish dark brown color with a minimal head. Sweet aroma of roasted malt and lemon. Medium bitter smoky taste. Medium light body.

RexTalionis (2124) - FINLAND - MAR 2, 2013
Bottle. Pours cloudy brown in color with a thin tan head. Appearance is pretty horrible. Earthy and some rubber in aroma. Light smokiness perhaps and some light notes of salty seawater in taste. Slightly sweet maltyness as well. Feels more like an old ale though this one and is pretty good actually. Bittersweet and slightly salty finish.

0,33l bottle from Alko. Pours hazy dark brown, almost black with a low head. Aroma is sweet smoke, malts and ham. Flavor is malts, smoke, some hops. Dry and bitter palate. A bit more body and it would be near 4. I like this though. Hops and smoke is nice and weird combination.

Väri tumma, maku ehkä suomalaistyylisen hyvin geneerinen johon yritetty uppottaa jippo, eikä onnistuttu ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle. BB 8/13. (Alko) Helsinki, Finland.
Dark murky brown colour with a small tan head. The aroma is rather interesting. There’s malt, toffee sweetness, floral and smoky notes. The dry flavour is cough drops, mild tar, rather mild smoke and malt. The smokiness is quite mild. Too easy to be really tasty or interesting.

33cl bottle. Hazy brown color with a small beige head. Malty aroma with smoke and a hint of tar. Flavor is sweetish toasted malt, smoke, nuts and some fruity notes. Medium body, aftertaste is quite dry and bitter.

Erasmus_ro (1188) - Alabama, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Bottle, BBE 08/2013. Pours an opaque dirty, dark cola with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel and smoke, mostly. Smoked ham too, light, stingy pine. Like a Schlenkerla-lite. Tastes a lot of caramel and smoke, almost stingy with them both, even a bit ashy perhaps. Light fruitiness there. Herbal finish, light pine too. Palate is light, too light though not watery. Well-carbonated. Could definitely use a heavier, more coating mouthfeel. Otherwise much to my liking.
