2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear gold with a lasting white foam. Nose is sweet caramel/toffee upfront and slight grass and citrus on the end. Flavor is again sweet with a quite intense grassy bitterness on the finish. My housemate summed it up perfectly, a bit like Sam Adams Boston Lager.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Appearance: Ruby red, proud white head. Aroma: slightly hoppy, grain, leafy, quite a mild aroma. Flavour: lemon, grainy, grassy again with a little hoppiness, caramel, quite a carbonated mouthfeel. Not bad.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, pours medium amber. Smelled a little like malty raisins. Grassy taste, with mildly bitter aftertaste. Nothing special, but surprisingly drinkable for the price.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Watford. Poured a clear dark golden colour, with a large dense white head. Aroma of US hops, biscuity malt and caramel. Flavours were similar, some grassy hop notes and spruce. Finish was resinous, with some toffee and grain. Nothing special, but pretty reasonable US pale.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle at home. Poured a medium to dark gold with a thin white head. Aroma is carboard, malts, bread, corn. Flavour is a little metallic, citrus, malts. I love American pale ale, this doesn’t taste like one and I didn’t enjoy it at all.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from err Sainsburys. Coppery colour, watery head, rather fizzy. I guess it is a successful attempt at an APA, somewhat fruity hops, moderate bitterness, a little malty. Slightly clunky too, a bit homebrewesque.drinkable enough, a bit earthy though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Thin white gold head without much retentive qualities. Nose straight from a 2 degrees Celsius refridgerator was fairly neutral, but after warming up we got some hop character, some citrus notes, alcohol and a generally American character. Corn and grass. Some toast, some orange. Boiled vegetables. The taste has a white sherbet tanginess with some bitterness towards the finish. Dry ending. Crisp mouthfeel. Watery palate. Only paid 89p for this, so can’t really complain, but a bit underwhelming.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
355ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours clear gold, no head. Malty aromas, light lemon citrus, touch of butterscotch. Taste is more of the same. With so many good APAs being made in this country, why import something so mediocre?
