"A delicate golden colour, Firecrest explodes with a bouquet of cirtus aroma, balanced by a crescendo of juicy, tart malt and a spice of final bitterness."

Hmm, nice stuff, a pleasant surprise. Aroma of citrus and malts. Light hoppy taste on the tongue giving way to citrus and malt. Not strong but very pleasant and well-balanced. Good beer.

an Orange coloured ale, with a citrusy hop aroma and a drying orangy bitter flavour

Bottled. Clear, golden with a dense, white head. Malty aroma with some fruityness and alcohol. Alcohol-saturated flavor with malt, fruity hops and thats it. Seems like the ABV is the goal with this beer, but it shouldn’t be necassary to let it be this pronounced. Warming and medium to thin mouthfeel, and the alcohol comes through in the finish as well. Drinkable but not too successful. (060815)

500ml Bottle from Sainsbury’s 14-04-06. Nice clear golden appearance and for a pasterurised beer not too bad , pretty good bitterness and the hops are quite present throughout, quite easy drinking despite the abv and a reasonably decent beer all told.

Bottled. Deep golden, small head. Fruity and syrupy, sweet with rounded mouthfeel. medium bodied with notes of metal and honey as well as some grassy hops. Fails to catch my interest.

Great colour, gold with a nice white head, leaves good lacework. Lovely fresh fruity nose, with soft malty undertones. Palate is nice and bitter, with hops to the fore, malt is there lurking in the background, and while it’s a tasty brew, it could be a tad better balanced. Still a very nice surprise...surprised at the low overall % score.
