COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available in 500ml bottles at Sainsbury’s supermarkets as part of their Taste The Difference range.

This traditional IPA has fresh aromas of white flowers and citrus with a clean bitter hop flavour. This classic India Pale Ale is made in Burton upon Trent, the home of British brewing. The recipe uses Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade hops and yeast from the Burton Union System, only used by the Marston’s Brewery in Burton. The famous Burton water is also used in the brewing process which helps give this ale its distinct flavour.

500ml bottle at home. Pours clear gold, no real head. Aromas are light floral, light caramel. Taste has a touch of Burton bite, but very light. Surprisingly thin too. Ok.

Bottle from Sainburys. This is a really nice IPA. That has plenty of hops in taste and aroma. Certainly worth a drink.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Slight hazy golden body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Nice lacing. Dry aroma of burnt grass and mixed herbs. Flavour of metal, earth and grass. Faint bitterness. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Needs more hops to be classed as an IPA, more like a strong Lager.

Grainy nose with floral and citrus notes, initially crisp and dry with a firm bitterness, then a little spice and malt coming though, finish is lightly earthy and dry-bitter.

Nothing special. Hop aroma and taste is less than expected. Nice color. Too much CO2. Drinkable ??

Brewed by Marston, this IPA shares many characteristics with their other beers, as likely as not due to their famous spring water. Perhaps a little too lightly hopped for this style, it is still a very pleasant beer, with a good flowery bouquet, a little sweetness in the aftertaste, and a good full body. The label aims for a mix of traditional simplicity and class, but I find it boring.

Bottle from Sainsburys of course. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is weak malty. No hops here. The flavour is medium bitter with a hoppy, malty spicy palate.

Aroma is quite faint, some yeast, herbal hops and a touch of malt. Flavour is light bitterness, some fruity hops, nothing special, but I could drink this al night.
