3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark red with sticky cream head. Aroma is spicy and smokey with peat and juicy fruit too. Taste is dry and bitter, biting and refreshing, also has nice tingly tongue feel. A bit watery, but good porter overall.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black colour and amber head. Strong aroma of roasted malts. The taste is of coffee and liquorice with a good level of bitterness to balance the sweetness of the roasted malts. Nice long finish. A little watery - I would have liked a more mouth-filling quality. A well-made porter, but not as good as some examples.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Salford. Despite the clear glass bottle (and spending a year in the personal beer cellar), the taste and texture does not seem to have been compromised and this is a punchy porter with a milky roasted malt nose and a slightly grittier than this taste. Almost black with a bubbly head.
