Röstiger Antrunk mit trockenen, leicht schokoladigen Noten. Die Röstnoten bleiben mild, aufkommende Bitternoten sind ab dem Mittelteil im Vordergrund, was sich auch nicht mehr ändert. Durchaus in Ordnung. 11/9/8/8/9/8

500ml bottle. ar: Blackcurrant. ap: dark brown, thick head, dissipating. ta: medium-sweet, medium bitterness. pa: medium body, creamy texture, carbonation lively, liquorice finish. Overall: Effervescent in mouth, tends to mask flavour. Might be worth leaving 10 minutes in glass.

I have a head cold but I’m picking something up here...not papaya, don’t think it’s guava, more like chocolate, hint of Belgian truffle. And I’m blindfolded as I taste the beer and type this review.

Quite pleased with this, good to at least have a porter on the shelves being pushed in a medium sized Sainsbury’s. This week they have moved the beers around in Sainsbury’s Kings Heath and extended the craft beer spacing, a good thing no doubt - sign of change, they rarely change anything there so all good. This has no length, but tastes good, Could be astrigent, but I’m not sure what that is. Was laughing to myself earlier (hoho) about people reviewing the Jasmin tea IPA saying that they could taste the jasmine tea in it, I’m thinking they have never tasted jasmine tea in their lives, let alone guava or papaya. Would love to give a blind taste test to people who say they taste papaya in a beer of papaya and guava. What do I know though - they’d probably get it right. Enough.
