Bottle at my parents house, from JS thanks to the old man, 25/01/13. Hazed mid amber with a good sized frothy white head that retains well. Nose carries muted hop tones - dumbed down and not very fresh, caramel malts, orange, lemon sherbet, hint of soap, a general musty and tired aroma. Lots of descriptors but none make it score more than 5 ! Taste comprises faded hops, touch of pine, citrus, orange marmalade, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, some hop bitterness in a dry finish. A pretty basic and below par IPA.

355ml Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Glasgow (Ł1.90):
Weak on the nose with some biscuit malts & hints of citrus. Faint hops & touches of bitterness follow but the aroma of this one is pretty basic and unexciting.
Clear, medium amber with a large, 4cm, foamy & slightly off-white head that has some bubbles in it. It holds for about 45 seconds then settles at about quarter the original size.
Some bitterness & biscuit flavours followed by subtle hops & hints of spice. Towards the end I thought I could detect the odd off-flavour but the taste was at least a slight improvement on the nose.
Medium bodied & bitter with a slight fizz, medium carbonation & smooth mouthfeel. The beer was quite easy to drink but the bitterness did seem a little strong and unbalanced, particularly towards the end of the beer.

Quite a poor beer, I should have known better than to pick this one up, especially considering it worked out more expensive than a lot of better, well-known craft beers Sainsbury’s was also selling. Not a beer I’ll be picking up again.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Watford. Poured an amber colour, with a thin halo of white head. Aroma of zesty citrus, peaches and syrup. Citrus hop flavours, with some grass and biscuity malt. Finish was caramel, some resin and chewy malt.

Pours hazy pale copper with a bit of a head. Smells like Belgian yeast and tastes the same. Made for sainsburies by a brewery in NY in the USA and then shipped over. I'm not sure I would have bothered... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
