COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A lovely golden amber ale with subtle hints of toffee and caramel beautifully balanced by hoppy notes from the Fuggles, Goldings and Challenger hops. Delicious with Cumberland sausage and mash.

Bottle split with Sarah, Doing it for the London tick. Aroma is sweet caramel, diacetyl, grassy hedgerow hop, stale brown bread. mineral. Clear mid amber coloured pour with a lasting creamy off white head. Palate is semi-sweet, creamy, highish carbonation. Flavour is sweet caramel, nutty, stale malts, earthy hop, brown sugar, malt loaf. Boring beer.

Brown-amber colour with thin frothy head and medium carbonated. Nose is uninteresting but pleasant earthy hops. Taste is fizzy biscuit and hops with decent bitter finish. Dry palate, slightly watery. Reasonable if fairly bog standard beer.

Lively, clear golden beer with a thick frothy head. Caramel and citrus zest scent. Flavour is a touch more hearty. Bitter hop but a bit of an earthy flavour there as well. Sadly it doesn’t follow this up with much so it ends up being quite dry and bitter and not entirely satisfying.

Bottle from Sainsburys in Folkestone. Pours out in a deep golden colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of mild hops, barley and malt. Taste of medium bitter hops, grass, citrus, light malt and light barley. Good balanced bitterness - makes it refreshing. Solid Bitter.

Bottle at home. Dark amber brown with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, wood. Flavour is similar, low hops. It was ok really but a little boring.

Bottle. Golden with an off white head. Aromas are grainy with black tea and hints of strawberry. Marmalade with spicy, nutty notes. Flavours are sweet grain with hedgerow and light lemon. Dry tea with a nutty finish. Pretty OK.

Bottle via Fred consumed Sun 26th January 2014 A rather average bitter, you could almost guess it was from the Marstons stable. Muddling bittersweet flavours but lacking in all departments, though some caramel and a little fruit twang distinguish it ever so slightly. Boring beer I’m afraid. A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9
